Active Fun at Megamall Fashion Hall

active fun megamall

Active Fun has become one of Rain's favorite places. She can spot an Active Fun from miles away. Even if she can't read yet hahaha! I guess she recognizes the logo colors and the clown character in it. And more often than not, when we're in Megamall with her, we make it a point that she plays there.

active fun megamall rates

Here are Active Fun's admission rates. Of course I don't let Rain play alone. She's usually accompanied by her yaya especially when I have to do some errands, etc. Yeah it's quite expensive. But I just want to make sure Rain is having fun and interacting with other kids when I know I'm going to take a while with an event or whatever stuff I need to take care of.

active fun megamall

It's got that under-the-water theme going on

fetcher card

After filling up the admission slip and paying at the cashier, you will be given two wrist stickers and a fetcher's card. The wrist stickers are of course for your little one and her companion. And before your child goes in, they take a photo of you (the fetcher) using their computer, note it under your number to avoid kidnapping kind of situations.

active fun megamall

I don't have photos on the inside. I guess I will just update this post with more interior play gym photos when I'm the one  playing inside accompanying Rain. Hehehehe. Why am I even posting this photo? Oh, to show you that it's got 2 floors of padded obstacle fun!

water slide

I was able to take pictures of some parts of the first floor though. That's Rain's ex-yaya, and that's Rain sliding down the illuminated slide with running water inside so it looks sort of like a waterfall. Rain loves slides. She's not afraid to slide down on them. Even the bigger ones. She's so different from me. I was a wuss when I was a child. I was always hesitant to go on slides (in fact, even until now hahaha!) My little dare devil!

active fun megamall

Right near the slide is this mermaid's pool that is not actually a pool. More of a water bed but transparent and illuminated to give that pool effect. Only smaller kids are allowed here.

active fun megamall

Close-up of the mermaid pool. Was only using my phone camera so forgive me for the graininess of this one. Super zoom!

active fun megamall

And when your kids get hungry, there's a snack bar right there. We haven't tried eating there though so I'm not sure how the food is. But I'm sure it's fine.

active fun megamall

They've got heavy meals

active fun megamall

as well as snacks.

active fun megamall function area

And right by the back is the function area for parties. Quite small. Above it is more playground. So kids are actually playing above the function area.

Active Fun in Megamall Fashion Hall is heaven-sent to parents like me who need to do some stuff but can't leave their kids at home. Not always though. It can be pricey hehehe. But I'm sure the kids don't mind spending hours in a huge colorful padded playground with huge slides, lots of balls and other fun stuff! (I wouldn't mind either hehehe). There are a lot of other play places in Megamall but I believe this one is the best.

Active Fun is located at the 5th level, Mega Fashion Hall. Near the ice skating rink. But there's a bigger Active Fun with their own building at ACTIVE FUN Bldg., Bonifacio High Street, 9th Avenue corner 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, and they also have a branch at Fairview Terraces.

SafeHouse Storage: Storage Spaces for Rent

new home

Rookie mistake: Don't get me wrong. I love our house. I think it's nice! But word of advice...When looking for a house to rent or to buy, don't get carried right away with the interiors and the fact that it's fully furnished (yes we got it fully furnished! Everything you see in the picture! hehehe).

Where was I? Oh, yes... as I was saying... don't let those things distract you. Because then, like me, you might end up overlooking some factors that I didn't really think was necessary until now....

Our house doesn't have a STORAGE ROOM!!! *^$(#*^)#&^%#)

messy

And then of course, once you start to have a baby, no matter how big your house may look like, it will get filled very very quickly. Things will just keep pilling up and pilling up. I wanted to keep the boxes of Rain's toys so that when she's too old to play with some of them, I can sell them for a much lower price. But guess what? No storage to store all those boxes and old toys :-(

Christmas tree and Christmas ornaments? It's packed in our garage.

Old magazines? Stacked in one of the rooms.

Baby chair that Rain hardly uses? In the corner of the dining room collecting dust.

You get the picture.

storage space for rent

And so ever since, I've been thinking... that if only I had the money, I would put up a storage-room-for-rent business. Like the ones in that show Storage Wars. If only. Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that someone already beat me to it. The good news is, someone already beat me to it! This means there is finally a storage space I can rent here in Manila to put all of the not-so-junk stuff lying around the house! Yay!!! It's been founded in 2010 and yet I'm only hearing about this now. Where have I been? Tsk tsk...

storage space for rent

Say hello to SafeHouse Storage! The first self-storage facility in the Philippines! They already have two branches. One in Taguig and another in Quezon City. And it's quite amazing that since its beginning, the number of units has grown by 3000%.

storage space for rent

Safehouse Storage have different unit sizes with roll-up doors.  A smallest storage unit can fit the equivalent of 8 balikbayan boxes, while the largest unit can fit 110 balikbayan boxes. Rentals start from as low as Php 2,000/month. (I thought this sounded expensive at first. But I heard that it's much more expensive in the states. My niece's 5x5 storage room is $75 a month. That's roughly P3,300) Anyway, I think it's worth it to help clear up the house and not make it look like a hoarder's house in the making). And what sets them apart from other storage places in the states is that they can also give end-to-end services that include packing and moving for a more convenient and complete storing experience for you.

storage space for rent

They also have 27/7 CCTV cameras, and roving security guards to make sure everyone's stuff is safe.

storage space for rent

But Safehouse Storage is more than just storing. They also do the following services:

  • Packing
  • Transporting
  • Record management and archiving
  • Customized racking and tracking system
  • Barcode system
  • Insurance with a starting coverage of P100,000
  • On-site auctions with the Company’s accredited wholesale buyers for items clients want to dispose

So SafeHouse is actually more than storing. They can be your expert packing, transporting, and archiving assistants as well! Such a brilliant idea that I'm glad has reached the Philippine shores!

Teddy's Bigger Burgers now Open!!! (And giving out FREE burgers!)

I'm not usually a big burger fan. I have the mood for it. I might have said this a couple of times with my entries at The Pickiest Eater. But anyhoo... We were invited to a sneak peak before it officially opens to the public, TODAY, August 23. And so far, with what I've tasted, it's one of the best I've tried! And I'm glad it's now here in the Philippines!

teddys burgers philippines

The place looked like a cross between a diner and a burger joint, with surf boards hung in some places for that Hawaii touch. I love the feel. Very relaxed yet exciting!

teddys burgers philippines

The three surfboards on the wall you see here represent the international branches of Teddy's Burgers. Aside from Hawaii, they also opened up a branch in Japan, and now, in the Philippines! Greenbelt 3 to be exact! You can find more details at The Pickiest Eater's post here.

After a couple of minutes, the place was packed with bloggers and other media people. Time to order!

teddys burgers philippines

Here's the anatomy of a Teddy's Bigger Burger. First of all, their special sauce is amazing! Very Hawaiian! There's really nothing like it... at least as far as I know. Their buns are fluffy potato buns. I didn't even notice they were potato buns. Very soft, and doesn't crumble. And the burgers? 100% US ground chuck and hand-partied everyday, and then char broiled to perfection. (Ground chucks mean that it has no extenders. Created the hard way. No flavors injected. No soy, no enhancers. It's 100% pure!

We started with these Tiki wings which is an exclusive part of the Philippine menu.
It's really good. The dip really complements the sweetish glaze of the chicken. It's almost as if the glaze had some pineapple juice in it.

hawaiian burger

And this is my Hawaiian Style Burger. It's a teri burger with a slice of grilled pineapple. Then I had them add cheese. Because a burger without cheese for me is a big no no. It was perfect especially with the oozing special sauce! Mmmmmm-mmm!

hawaiian buger

I ordered it with fries. And oh my goodness their fries are so good! The seasoning of their plain fries reminded me of the Pik Nik ketchup flavor for some reason. It's got a bit of sugar in it. A perfect sweet and salty treat! Next time I'm ordering LARGE fries!

Bacado Burger. An excellent burger with avocado, cheddar cheese, and BACON!

burger and onion rings

And Richie's Kailua Double Monster Burger. Another Teri burger but this time topped   Grilled Mushrooms, Grilled Onions and Swiss Cheese.

Going back to the fries, it can be topped with bacon, cheese sauce, bleu cheese, or grilled mushrooms for an additional P45.

For the price? To be honest, I find it pricey. But because of the quality these babies, I would go back maybe once in a while because it's really delicious. Really hits the spot for me. It caught my love for sweet and spicy. I can't wait for it to open today because I can't wait to get my jaws again on one of those burgers, and order a good serving of fries! (Diet? What diet?)

Thanks Teddy's for giving us a sneak peak! We really had fun! (I guess it's obvious with our photos below hehehe. We're really feeling the Hawaiian theme!)

Play Place in Podium Mall: Kidzville Play and Party Center

kidzville podium

I'm in a phase right now where I'm constantly looking for nice play places in malls where Rain can play go all out and play. I thought there would be one in each mall or commercial center. But surprisingly, sometimes there's none. I tried googling but very little results came out. Like this one time I needed to attend to something at Greenhills and I wanted to bring my little Rainbow, but to my surprise they only had Mini Fun Ranch which is basically a mini carnival (with small ferris wheels, and I think 2 other rides). But what I needed is a cool playground where Rain can slide and run and tumble but not get hurt.

So anyway because of this I promised to write about all the play places that we usually go to, for future toddler moms use ;-)

Today, I'm writing about Kidzville Play and Party Center in Podium!

kidzville podium

I remember it was the day of Man Eats World (a food event) in Podium. I took my little Rainbow. But after a while of course she started getting bored. Thankfully, there's a play place on the 4th level of Podium Mall. So we went there and I checked her in. From the outside you can already tell this was an awesome place for toddlers, and moms too!

mini village

Take a peek and you'll see that it looks like a mini village for little people. Actually the whole place looks like a mini town.

post office

The registration area was designed as a post office. This is where you fill out forms when checking your child in.

kiddie bank

The Cashier is set up as a bank called The Piggy Bank.

locker

The locker area looks like a shoe shop. This is one of the biggest locker areas I've seen in a play place. In fact, most play places don't even have a locker area.

kidzville map

The place is quite big so they felt the need to put a map complete with map legend.

kidzville rates

I wasn't sure what time I was going to finish with the event downstairs so I registered Rain and her yaya for the unlimited one.

play place
Rain with her ex-yaya

As you may know, kids and their guardians need to wear socks while inside the play place. Don't have one? You can buy from them for P30 a pair.

This reminds me of Batibot hehe

So anyway, in they go into the mini town! It's got a hospital,

A farm... I even remember there's a mini "internet place".

toy car

There's also a mini room with costumes and hats... like this zebra little Rain is wearing...

WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

And the coolest part of all? These three super huge slides!!! (Yep, she totally went down the slide alone. She's my little daredevil!)

And remember I mentioned earlier that this place is also a nice place for moms? Well....

nail spa

Why wouldn't it be when it's got dainty a nail spa by the entrance?!

girly shop

There's also a shop for all things girly!

kidzville party package

These are the party packages and playshop activities available in Kidzville Podium

Rain had so much fun playing that this was actually the first time that she refused to come to me as soon as she saw me. Hehehehe. That's why I'll never forget that day she played here. This is actually a long-overdue post. As you can see, Rain is so much younger here). Anyway I really like Kidzville because there's so much play things here for kids! From blocks to slides, to pretend-play. I'm 101% sure your kids will have a blast!

The downside? That Kidzville jingle playing surround sound over and over and over and over and over and over.......

Fun Polly Dots: A Cool Molding Toy!

$

fun polly dots

I've seen this before when I first attended a Mommy Mundo Expo Kid 2013. But Rain was still too young to be playing with molding toys. But now that Rain is almost 3 years old, she loves loves loves playing with molding toys like Play Doh. I love Play Doh too. So much that it bothers me when Rain mixes all the colors together hahaha! Well, it's her Play Doh anyway)

So anyway I'm getting off track again. Now that Rain is of age to play with molding toys, I finally bought her a pack of Fun Poly Dots during this year's Mommy Mundo Clearance sale!

fun polly dots

Poly Dots are basically little dots of foam that you can shape and mold and create stuff with. They are held together with some sticky substance that somehow doesn't stick to the skin. You can pull them apart, and squish them back together and it will hold in whatever shape you form them to.

fun polly dots

Its actually not recommended for kids below 4 years old. (Oh no! I'm a bad mom!) But in my defense, I always always supervise her when she plays this. Because they do look like candy. They remind me of the ice cream Dippin Dots, actually. Plus the colors are really attractive. So always supervise your toddlers when playing this. If for some reason you know you will be distracted, just give them a more age-appropriate toy.

Anyway, LET'S PLAY!

fun polly dots

The sale package contains 7 pastel  colors. Of course she wanted me to open all!

fun polly dots

Here we go!

fun polly dots

Close up. See the tiny sticky strings? They look like tiny melted marshmallows! They also won't stick to surfaces like clay so cleaning up is a breeze!

fun polly dots

What I like about the Fun Polly Dots is that even if you mix the colors together...

fun polly dots

... they will still look cute! Because the colors won't actually blend! Another thing I really like about it is you can leave it uncovered and it won't dry and it won't get stiff. Genius! I also love how light it is. It's almost as light as bubbles!

fun polly dots

I combined pink and lavander. It's so Sofia the First!!!

And I'm sure you're wondering if it's non-toxic? Yes of course it is! It's also non-allergenic! Toys like these really have to be because kids like putting stuff in their mouth. Here are the other factors of Fun Poly Dots:

  • Contains no gluten, proteins, organic materials or other allergens
  • Contains no phthalates
  • Contains no latex
  • Conforms to ASTM D 4236
  • Contains no hazardous or toxic substances

It's really cool to play with and it will really keep your kids busy. Not to mention it will exercise your child's creativity and imagination.

Here's what I created for Rain with Fun Polly Dots. This was before all the colors were mixed together haha! Let's face it. It's fun for parents too!:

fun polly dots

And Pocoyo!

And here's what Rain made on her own!:

foam cake

A birthday cake! With a bald Barbie Mega Block topper (The hair piece is missing huhuhu)

foam cake

Turns out, the cake was for one of her PinyPons. Apparently it was its birthday. Happy Birthday PinyPon! (No, I wasn't invited.)

A Fun Polly Dots block is 2.75 W x 4 H x 1.25 D inches. The box set of 7 usually costs around P700. But since it was the Mommy Mundo Clearance Sale, I only got this for P590 (I think? I'm sure it was 500+). And then he threw in another single color pack for free (which originally costs around P120) talk about big savings!

The down side? Compared to clay, you can't really intricately shape it or make intricate details with it because they're made of tiny ball foams. (Although in the photo of the box, there are some very detailed creations there. It's actually harder than it looks) So pretty molds or cutters will be a challenge to use for this. But other than that, it's all good!

Why I Think Siri is Cool (A Geeky Post)

Just one of those moments when I feel like sharing anything under the sun. And in this post, I want to document the reasons why I think Siri is cool. Siri makes me feel like Iron Man, and she is my very own Jarvis. (I really wish there's an option to download Jarvis' voice for my Siri. That would be so cool!)

what siri can do

Sometimes I check with Siri if I have appointments for a certain day.

what siri can do

Lazy to type? You can ask Siri to post on Faceboor or Twitter for you.

what siri can do

Or search for a certain trending topic in Twitter.

what siri can do

You can also ask her to wake you up at a certain hour.

what siri can do

Or even do some research for you.

Oh, and recently I found out about the 'Raise to speak' option. This means that at anytime you want to "speak" with Siri, just raise your iPhone, put it on your ear (as if you're going to call someone). Then you will hear the double beep from the speaker. Then just say your command and Siri will get right on it. Just go to General > Siri > Raise to speak.

You can also change Siri's voice from female to male. Just go to General > Siri > Voice Gender. (But I still really really wish I have Jarvis' voice for my Siri! Pretty please, Apple?)

GlaxoSmithKline's Calpol Vs. Dengue Fever

$

I hate mosquitoes. I think they should be extinct. They have no redeeming factor at all. Nothing they do contributes any good to mother earth and to humans. Not even the whole Jurassic-Park-dinosaur-DNA-extracted-from-an-ancient-mosquito thing could help if it could really happen in real life. NOTHING!!!!

They're nothing but stupid pests that bring itchy bites and disease. Dengue. In fact, the child of someone I know currently has dengue. Thankfully looks like they caught it early and the child is being treated. Dengue is more frightening when you're a parent because of the thought that mosquito likes snacking on little children's blood. What we would give to protect our children from this annoying disease!

Preventing mosquito bites is quite a challenge as well. Let's face it, those anti-mosquito thingy don't always work. I think mosquitoes have developed an immune system to citronella products. (It is soooooo hard! I feel like such a bad parent whenever Rain still manages to get mosquito bites even with repellents.)

And we can't always be under a  mosquitero all the live long day.

So the question is, what can we do in case we're faced with stupid dengue? Here's what...

GlaxoSmithKline, the leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and also the maker of doctor-recommended Paracetamol Calpol, has joins forces with the Department of Health and the Philippine Pediatric Society for the campaign Aksyon Laban sa Dengue: A Dengue Fever Awareness and Education Program. With this campaign, there will also be a Barangay Caravan that will be going around to help spread awareness about dengue fever.

The World Health Organization has officially made Calpol the 'preferred and only recommended analgesic treatment for Dengue Fever'. As it turns out, Aspirin or ibuprofen is NOT recommended as they may potentially may aggravate bleeding. Calpol® on the other hand, is made to effectively give relief from the discomforts of children's pain and fever.

Now, here are some tips on how we can prevent or fight dengue. Please read these important tips:

1.) Dengue is more common during rainy seasons. And I believe this because I always notice a huge increase of mosquitoes outside the house every time it rains. So we have to be extra alert during rainy season.

2.) Fever that lasts for more than 2 days during rainy season is not a good sign.

3.) Aside from fever, a person with dengue can also experience the following:

headaches
nausea and vomiting
loss of appetite
abdominal pain
muscle and joint aches
rashes
bleeding manifestations

On a personal note, it's always better to always consult your child's pedia even for small things because it's always better to be safe than sorry.

(L-R: Secretary Philippine Pediatric Society Mrs. Sally Gatchailan , GM of GSK Consumer Health Care, Mr. Jeofrey Yulo,  and Calpol Group Product Manager Rachelle Gamboa)

“While there is no specific medicine to cure Dengue, we can, however, alleviate the pain felt by the child by at least managing their fever, like giving them Paracetamol Calpol which provides soothing fever relief you can rely on. When a child has fever, they feel weaker and lack the energy to enjoy life. So when fever strikes, it’s like they are putting their life on hold. In these times, you need a reliable partner to help provide a feeling of ginhawa that your sick child needs.”
-  Jeofrey Yulo, GM of GSK Consumer Health Care

In this campaign, they will also be helping selected barangays within Metro Manila that have high cases of dengue incidence. DOH will be training health practitioners on dengue updates, prevention, and treatment. After this the PSS will pass this module to selected barangays, all of course within DOH guidelines. And then GSK will bring doctors to these selected areas to lead the Dengue info campaign. The more we know about this disease, the more power we have to prevent it.

For more information about (Paracetamol) Calpol®, and its Dengue campaign, visit their official website www.calpol.com.ph or like them on Facebook   .

By the way can I just share some funny mosquito memes and tips I saw on the net? :-) Come on it's fun!!! :-)

garden wedding

I love weddings! But it has been 6 years since I was updated with the latest wedding trends and suppliers. That was the year of my own wedding of course. But a few years after my wedding, I kind of lost track of the wedding fab, especially when I had to start focusing on something else. Like baby stuff hehehe. Anyway, a few months ago, a friend of mine got married at Mango Farm in Antipolo. It was my first time there. And I thought the place was beautiful!

garden wedding

Mango Tree Farm is perfect for garden weddings. This is the entrance to the ceremony. So simple but very beautiful! I love the way the tree shadows reflect on this beautiful entrance. (The time of my friend's wedding was in the afternoon. I think it was around 3pm? And I don't recall getting bitten by any mosquitoes while w were there. So that's a big plus.)

garden wedding

Step through the entrance and this ceremony area will greet you. It's breath taking! I love it because it seems like a destination wedding, but really it's just located in lower Antipolo City. Just an hour or so drive from the metro.

garden wedding

Simply rustic and beautiful and so close to nature! I love the chandelier touch in an outdoor setting!

garden wedding

It was a refreshing feeling being surrounded by beautiful mango trees during the wedding ceremony.

The walkway.

Here comes the bride! Mango Farm uses burlap / jute sack instead of the usual red carpet. I liked it!

garden wedding

It was such a relaxing wedding. The number of guests were just right. It was actually quite intimate.

Love the vintage bikes situated near the reception hall.

garden wedding

The place is huge and so serene. It's also quite cool I guess because of all the oxygen from the trees all around. Very refreshing.

garden wedding

Right after the moving ceremony, it started getting dark, so Mango Farm turned on their night lights. And just like that, it seemed like the place was transformed into a whole different place. So it was selfie time again with my friends against the Mango Farm night lights!

Can I just rant for a bit?... Thank you!

This mommy weight thing makes it really hard for me to buy dresses that fit me well. I will either look like a wrapped rice cake, or a tent. That's why if you will notice, I almost always wear the same dress for formal events. This sheer floral dress in the picture is one of my favorites. I wore it numerous times already. (It's hard being a woman! You can't wear the same dress over and over. Guys are lucky. Darn.) So if anyone out there has any fashion tips for moms, please fire away! There are a lot of nice skirts and dresses I saw online at Zalora. I hope soon I'll be able to rock one of those ha ha ha! I miss my wedding weeeeight!!!! :-(

Anyway, enough ranting! Back to Mango Tree Farm...

Reception

garden wedding

This is the Mango Tree Farm's Pavillion. Just a few steps away from the garden where the ceremony was held.

pavillion reception

It can fit up to 250 guests. That's a lot!

So that's it! Not that I'm an expert or anything but I would recommend Mango Tree Farm to engaged couples out there. It's very nice, a bit far from civilization but not too far that it becomes a hassle to go to. The location is just right. And they already have venue and catering packages you can avail to make your wedding planning easier, thus avoiding summoning the bridezilla within. Hahaha!

newly weds

Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. R for allowing me to write about your wedding! ;-) For more details on rates and packages, you can check Mango Farm's official website and follow them on facebook.

I Made A Bento Box with OREOS!

bento making

I have been seeing a lot of bento posts on Instagram from TheBentoMommas and all I could think about was how the H*** do these moms have time to do these intricate lunch boxes?!? They all look so cute, and sometimes they look like the real characters they're trying to make. Sure, I don't really need to make bento boxes yet because my little Rainbow hasn't even started schooling yet. But the creative person in me is yelling "That's easy! I can totally do that!". So finally I was fortunate enough be invited by Oreo to a Bento-Making event. And boy, was I wrong. It's not that easy at all!

bento making

Here's what I had to make: AN OREO SPIDER BENTO!!!

LET'S GET IT OOOOON!!!! ;-)

oreo transformers

I'm so glad we're doing this with Oreo cookies!!! It's so much more fun!

bento making

So anyway, here's the materials I had when creating the Spider Bento. A good bento box (any container, really as long as it's air tight and spill-proof), chocolate bread, an apple, an orange (because bentos always have to be balanced so you need a lot of healthy stuff in there too! There should be carbs, fiber, and meat of course for savory bento meals), and to add a dash of decor, use decorative cups as dividers.

bento making

I started by cutting the chocolate bread into a a circle for the spider's body. I was going to make a spider sandwich! I put cheese spread in between.

Next, I got some strawberry creme Oreos and carefully took out the pink filling, and cut two small circles to use for the eyes. You can use a fat straw as your cutter. You know, the ones used for milk tea with pearls. Then I added chocolate chips for spidey's pupils.

Next, I got some PrimeBerry creme Oreo filling, and cut it into a mouth using my bare (but clean) hands. It's just like molding clay.

Rain was starting to get cranky already but the Oreo calmed her down hehehe ;-) Even if her attention span is too short to participate in making my bento project, I still had her with me because after all, things are always better together! ;-)

Actually, she did participate in something... finishing all the grapes. (Sorry table-mates! *nervous laughter*)

bento making

Next up, the legs. There were some pretzels there so I used those and stuck them on the sides in between the chocolate bread sandwich. Four on each side. Then that was basically it! All I needed to add now was the fruits, and more Oreos! Yum!!!

spider bento

TADA!!!!!! Behold! My Spidey Sandwich Bento!!! (As you can see I made last minute changes on spidey's mouth. I wanted a bigger wackier grin so I used an orange slice instead hehehe. I also added that grassy thingy to add more color. Do you like it? :-) I hope!

In case it wasn't obvious, this was my peg hahaha. Just saw it from Google image> MyCuteGraphics.com Just couldn't get the pretzels to bend that way.

oreo cat

There are many more bento creatures you can create with Oreos! Check how Michelle of MyMomFriday.commade this awesome cat with Oreos as one of her major ingredients!

sprinkles

You can use a lot of other candies and sprinkles to make your bento more fun! Next time, I'll share with you how I did a bear out of brown rice!

The most important reminder that I learned from this Bento-Making session is that you need not be an experienced cook to make something this beautiful. All you need is good kitchen sanitary practices, maybe a little bit of each of the food groups in one box, and of course, last but definitely not the least, a sprinkle of imagination and a dash of creativity!

Thank you so much Oreos for having me in this fun Bento-Making event! I can safely say I'm sort of ready to make fun, pretty, and delicious snacks for my little Rainbow!

How To Make A Bear Bento Box

bento bear

I wish bento meals were more popular back in the days when I was in elementary. So then my school lunches would look more interesting and enticing. Have you seen the things the Bento Mommas can do?! Mind blowing!!! And I'm happy to say that I was lucky to have learned this rice bento from them!

So here, as promised, here's a simple step by step on how to create what may be your first bento rice!

bento

Ingredients: Nori sheets, mayo (to use as paste), Brown rice, white rice, some protein (we used Chicken), some veggies (we had some broccoli and corn), and some fruits (we used apples and grapes). Bentos should be created with a mixture of protein, vegetables, carbs, and fruits to ensure a completely balanced healthy meal for your little ones.

bento tools

These are some of the tools you will need. Of course you will need a good bento box. Something spill-proof and air-tight. The colorful paper cup looking thingy serve as great food dividers to prevent the natural juices of each food from mixing. Not to mention it adds more color to the bento.

bento cutter

This is a small carving knife. This is what we used to carve patterns on the apple skin. It's pretty easy to use! But make sure you keep it out of children's reach of course. For a rice bento you will also be needing zip locks to help mold the rice without it sticking to your hands. Okay let's start!!!

bear bento

First, scoop up some brown rice and make a ball. (Rain tried to "help" but she wanted to just eat the grapes hehehe)

bear bento

Flatten the ball of brown rice like so, and put it on one corner of the bento box.

bear bento

Next, make two smaller balls of brown rice this time for the bear's ears. Use a little bit of mayo to use as glue to help stick the ears to the head.

bear bento

Next, the snout of the bear. Ball up a medium-sized ball of white rice. Flatten it as well and place it on top of the brown rice like so.

bear bento

Then the tricky part... use the nori sheets and cut out shapes for the eyes, nose, freckles, and other facial details for your bear. You may use a small puncher to help you make perfect little circles. That's it for the rice!

apple in sprite

For the apples, slice them and drown them in some Sprite / 7up. This is to keep the apple slices from turning brown so that by the time your little one opens her bento box in school, the apples will still look pretty! (We learn something new everyday!). Then use the cutter to draw patterns on the apples. I just did a simple checkerd pattern. (Sorry I don't have a solo photo of this hehe)

bear bento

Then just put all the elements in the box, using food dividers, adding some veggies, some fruits, maybe some Oreo cookies for dessert, and of course, don't forget your protein! Make sure there is no empty space left so that the items won'ts shift during the travel to school, etc.

bento

Tadaaaaa!!!! :-)  I've said it before, but let me share with you again what I learned: You don't need to be an experienced cook to create beautiful bentos. You just need the will, the patience (It's not as easy as it looks because it requires time), and of course, you need to let your imagination run wild!

bento tools

During the Bento workshop I attended a couple of days ago held by the Bento Mommas, I was able to purchase these cool bread cutters / molders. Even though I haven't experienced using one of these, I bought 2 designs anyway because they were just so darn cute! Not to mention that I believe this will help make my little Rainbow excited to eat her sandwich hehehe.

But here's what I bought first...

hello kitty bread cutter

A pair of Hello Kitty cutters for the little Rainbow (P140)

star wars bread cutter

And a set of Star Wars cutters (P200) for The Pickiest Eater. (The force is strong in this one!)

rolling pin

During the Bento session, The Bento Mommas showed us that it's better if you press the bread with a rolling pin. This way, it will be easier and more firm to cut with a cookie cutter. And the print from the mold will be clearer.

friends mug

But since we don't have a rolling pin at home, I improvised by using a mug. Hahaha! And it worked pretty well.

hello kitty bread cutter

After the rolling action, I started cutting away! I ate the sides hehe. No leftovers! ;-)

 hello kitty sandwich

And behold, Hello Kitty Cheese Sandwich!

star wars sandwich

And Star Wars cheese sandwiches! They look pretty good, I'd say!

bento tools

I can't wait to buy more of these babies! It's addicting! And  somewhat therapeutic. Haha! Look at how many stuff they have! It's quite cloying! I love it!!!

mickey bread cutter

I wanted to buy this big Mickey Mouse but it was a bit more expensive (P400). Next time!

mickey and minnie bread cutter

I'll definitely get this Mickey and Minnie soon!

foldable shoes

My first time to purchase a Flipsters pair and I'm so excited! I actually got it from a fellow blogger, Earth. It was perfect timing actually because my current all-around fold-able flats has a bit of a damage already. Sad. Because it's pricey. (Sorry Yosisamra, I love you, I tried, but you gave up on me so quickly! Sniff... I thought what we had was special! But it was good while it lasted)

And so I needed a new one immediately because flats are the only way to go for moms who chase their toddlers around for a good part of the day.

foldable shoes

It comes in a small tear-drop shaped pouch so it's very easy to carry around in your bag without your bag smelling like feet haha!

foldable shoes

Peek-a-boo! There it is! Yes, those are actual shoes. Shoes that are made to be folded 2 times.

Tadaaaa!

foldable shoes

The soles are a bit thin than usual flats of course but you can feel that they're pretty solid.

foldable shoes

I don't work in an office anymore but I imagine this would be perfect for office goers to wear during their commute to and from work. It's the perfect driving shoes as well. And the designs look simple but classy, making it an all-around pair of shoes.

foldable shoes

It's referred to as a folding ballet flats for any occasion. Perfect to bring for travel because it won't take up space at all. You can literally just stash it in your hand bag or purse! Perfect for everyday use (I hope! Let's see how long it will last me!) A pair cost around P1,200 I think. I got mine with a special price hehe thank you Earthling Gorgeous for this cool transaction hahaha!

A Lot Of Firsts in Bellevue Resort, Bohol!

bellevue bohol

It has been 5 years since my first trip to Bohol. And a lot has happened in those years. We transferred to our own home, we changed jobs, we became parents to our beautiful little Rainbow, our food blog The Pickiest Eater started getting great hits, and this blog was born.

Although it was my second time in Bohol, we had a lot of 'firsts' experiences in this second trip. And that's why it will remain memorable to me!

First of all, it was our first time to stay at this beautiful hotel, The Bellevue Resort Bohol!

bellevue bohol

Every part of this hotel is Instagram-worthy! Here's the entrance,

koi pond

A beautiful Koi pond rests by the lobby. There are a total of 3 koi ponds with lots of koi fishes! Rain had so much fun talking to the Koi fishes while waiting for us to get checked in. And as you can see there's a sunken bar area beside it where you can have drinks at night.

bellevue bohol

Here's the reception area.

And here's the hallway to the rooms. I love the swirly wall designs!

bellevue bohol room

And of course, behold! The room! We were given an Ocean View Deluxe Room. Not too shabby!

A sofa set beside the bed. If you think about it, 2 more people can sleep in this area. One on the blue couch, and another on the green couch, just push the green ottoman closer to the green couch. Perfect for a slumber party!

bellevue bohol bathroom

It's got a spacious bathroom too!

beach slippers

I squealed with delight when I saw the bedroom slippers! Flip flops! Smart move since it's a beach resort anyways. Rubber flip flops are the way to go to walk around the resort.

bellevue bohol view

And check out our amazing view! In this shot alone you get a share of everything. The sky, the pool, the beach, the restaurant huts, the garden. Just perfect!

bellevue bohol

One of the things I look forward to in a beach is gorgeous powder-fine sand. And that's what this Bohol resort has.

star fish

Don't laugh, but it was also my first time to hold a star fish! A live one too! Check out the tiny jelly-like tentacles. It's trying to walk away from my hand hehehe. It was really for Rain from her Tito Spanky but she was knocked out from her nap by the beach. So I just put the star fishes back in the shore after getting acquainted with them.

bohol sand

After an hour or so of nap, someone's excited to swim at the beach!

swimming with umbrella

Because I was afraid that Rain would get sun burnt since I knew for a fact that she had plans on swimming the whole day, and because I forgot to pack our big hats, and because I know I look like charcoal when I get burned by the sun, I borrowed an umbrella from the lobby hehehe. And not once did I regret bringing an umbrella the whole time while we swam! :-)

swimming

Another 'first': This was the first time that Rain learned to balance all by herself in the water! Sure, she had her girly MotherCare life jacket on, but still! At first I needed to hold her at all times because she would topple over. But after a while I noticed that she could stay upright all by herself, while padding in place!!!! I'm so proud!!! :-)

swimming

Here's Rain happily swimming along side daddy!

swimming

She also had a blast swimming at the kiddie pool with Tales from the Tummy's princess, Ate Lauren!

Island Hopping and Dolphin Watching

bellevue bohol

This was Rain's first time to go Island Hopping. Before in Cebu, we would leave Rain and her cousin Matteo in the hotel while the adults and older kids went island hopping. But now she's bigger, we wanted to take her with us, because there was a chance that we would see dolphins!

dolphins

And we were lucky! Perhaps one of the most memorable part of this trip was our first time I saw dolphins swimming and playing in their natural habitat! I've watched dolphins perform in Dolphin shows in Ocean Park but this was more amazing! See the VIDEO at the end of this post!

isola di francesco

It was also my first time to swim in a slightly submerged sand bar. This is Isola Di Francesco in Panglao, Bohol.

panglao island

I know this is TMI (too much information) but it was my first time to go on a beach trip with Aunt Flow.Yep, Aunt Flow is that monthly unwanted visitor women get. It was such a bummer but then sometimes you have to seize the day and live in the moment! So I decided to still go for it. After all, it stops on water right?

snorkeling
Thank you Tummy Traveler Yen Dreyfus for this photo! :-)
And just like that, I jumped in with my lovely family! This was Rain's first time to swim in a snorkeling area! :-)

It was also my first time to eat Abalone. And a fresh catch at that! There were some fishermen at the sand bar, selling fresh catch seafood which the grill per order on the spot in their fisherman's boat. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo :-( But trust me, it's good! It has the same texture as a squid, but far more soft! Very good with their vinegar mixture! What I'd give for a grilled abalone right now! This made me extra glad that I took a dip in the sand bar with them!

Night Time at Bellevue Resort

dinner by the beach

That night we had an amazing dinner by the beach set up by the nice people of Bellevue Bohol!

dinner by the beach

It was a beautiful set up! There was a live band, and some of us showed off our talents! Hahaha! Scroll down for the video!

dinner by the beach

While the dinner was ongoing, Rain opted to play by the sand.

pinypon

Because it was her PinyPon's first time to play by the sand! Hahaha! And Pluto too!

movie night

Meanwhile, in the garden was movie night with dinner buffet open for all the hotel guests. Rio 2 was showing. I thought this was a cool idea for the hotel guests and of course, for the kids as well! Dining under the stars with a good family movie!

danggit

The next morning, I had one of the best Danggit ever! I got more danggit than bacon. It was THAT good!!! More on the food coming soon at The Pickiest Eater!

basketball arcade

The Bellevue Hotel's recreational floor is one of the coolest I've seen in a hotel! They have a basketball shooting machine thing...

computer shop

3 computers for gaming or internet...

play area

And a huge play room with lots of toys and slides and swings!

bellevue bohol

We had such an excellent time at Bellevue Resort that we were all heart-broken when it was time to leave.

Touring Around Bohol

tarsier

Of course we wouldn't dare visit Bohol without going to one of the It was also Rain's first time to see a Tarsier, the smallest mammal in the world! I'm sure she won't remember it but it was awesome nonetheless!

tarsier

Sweet dreams, Mr. nocturnal Tarsier! :-)

chocolate hills

I'm so happy to see that the Chocolate Hills are back in shape! They were recently damaged due to the strong earthquake back in October 2013. (Wow almost a year already!)

chocolate hills viewing dec

And since it was Richie's first time in Bohol, he just had to see it. Even if it meant climbing up hundreds of steps! So yes, it was Richie's first time to climb 214 steps. Hence the photo. Hehehe. Disclaimer though... it was his own will to climb. I didn't force him. He says he wouldn't miss it for the world to see the Chocolate hills with Rain. Awwww!

Chocolate hills

214 steps worth climbing!

man made forest

We also saw the man-made forest. I felt like I was at Forks Washington hehehe (Twilight fan, sorry)

This was such and awesome trip! Thank you so much Bellevue Resorts for our relaxing accommodation! Again, it's an experience with a lot of 'firsts' that I will never forget!

Fukuoka, Tokyo, New York, Seoul,  Shanghai, Taiwan, Shenzen, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Sydney, and now, IPPUDO has reached the Philippines and will be open TOMORROW (September 10, 2014)! Particularly at SM Megamall Fashion Hall!

thin noodles

Now before you think "Another ramen restaurant?!" just check it out first and and see. Who knows, you might just love it! Especially when you hear about IPPUDO's history

Shigemi Kawahara

IPPUDO was founded in 1985 by Shigemi Kawahara who is actually known in Japan as the Ramen King. That says a lot. He was dubbed as the ramen king because of his three consecutive winnings (all first place, by the way) on a ramen-making Japanese television show. He continuously innovates the way of ramen which is how he gave birth to the Hakata-style tonkotsu (pork-based) ramen, which has their signature creamy broth (I love creamy broths!), and in turn, earned IPPUDO its global acclaim.

IPPODU

IPPUDO started out as a 10-seater ramen restaurant.  The photo above is the actual first IPPUDO restaurant in Japan Daimyo District, Fukuoka City. I can only imagine how long the line was back then!

IPPODU manila

And now, it's here! We were lucky to be invited to IPPODU's Private Tasting along with a lot of other amazing bloggers!

ippudo

basket under seat

They haven't even served the food yet and I was already so happy. Why? I saw that they had baskets underneath the seats for storing your stuff while you eat. This is heaven-sent for women and moms who, no matter how much they spring-clean their bags, still end up having a lot of stuff in it. I posted it on my page and a follower commented that some restaurants in Japan really have this. Cool! I'm having a complete Japanese experience already haha! Thanks Hazel! :-)

IPPODU

Upon entering, the first thing you'll see on your left is the open kitchen where all the magic begins!

IPPODU

The interiors are exactly the same as the ones as the international branches. Zen-ish with touches of red and white, which are the color coding of IPPODU ramen flavors.

IPPODU manila

On the other side you will see a wall of red and white ramen bowls.

IPPODU

IPPODU condiments

On each tables, here are the condiments you will seel. Pepper, sesame seeds, a garlic smasher thingy, and the white plastic box contains cloves of garlic in water.

hello kitty ramen bowl

Oh, and when you're with your kids, this will be their dining set. How adorable is that?!?! Hello Kitty! Can't get any more Japanese than that hehehe.

IPPODU

Here's the best way to enjoy your ramen!

Yota Shiba

This is Yota Shiba. He joined IPPUDO back in 2010 at the first ever original branch, and has mastered the Hakata-style ramen. He eventually went up the ladder until he was tasked to manage a store in IPPUDO Namba, Osaka. And he's currently here in Manila to help guide IPPUDO Manila with the opening and operations. Such a privilege to have met him!

IPPUDO

Okay let's get started with the food! Beginning with the sidings...

Side Dishes

IPPUDO fluffy eggs

The Dashimaki Tamagowith Mentaiko Mayo (P150) are fluffy Japanese Omelette Roll with spicy cod roe mayonnaise dip. I enjoyed it and ended up eating Richie's leftover hehe.

IPPUDO cucumber salad

The Goma Q Salad (P140) Sliced Japanese cucumber with sesame dressing. Simple yet very refreshing. I have never seen cucumber this slender.

IPPUDO curry cheese

The Curry Cheese Harumaki (P190) are deep-fried spring rolls stuffed minced pork, curry, and cheese! Love the combination of this! Curry + cheese is love! It's served with an extra serving of curry and some crunchy noodles. Really good!

gyoza

The IPPUDO Hakata-style Gyoza (P195) is their original pan-fried dumplings. I love how crunchy the sear is and then juicy on the inside. This is IPPODU HK's best seller/

IPPUDO pork bun

And finally, saving the best for last, is the IPPODU Pork Bun (P100). As you can imagine, this is Richie's favorite. And I don't blame him. It really is delicious! A steamed bun with a juicy thick slice of braised pork belly smothered in IPPUDO's original sauce. Mouth. Watering. Must. Go. Back!!!!

Ramen

IPPUDO ramen

Before anything else, here's the components of an IPPUDO ramen. Hakata-style noodles which are mad fresh daily using their own blend of specialty four; Their ever so tender Chasu that's boiled and stewed for 2 hours; Ajikikurage (flavoured black fungus); And all submerged in a bowl of dashi (stock made from fish and kelp used in Japanese cooking) and of course, their signature tonkotsu broth, and IPPODU secret recipe that takes 15 hours to be extracted. (Whoa!!!)

Okay so moving on to the ramens for real...

IPPUDO ramen

The Shiromaru Motoaji (P375) is IPPUDO's original tonkatsu broth with thin noodles, pork loin, beef sprouts, kikurage and spring onions. It's truly a classic Hakata-style ramen. This was my order, actually. And I enjoyed it. I would have finished every drop if I wasn't so full and about to explode. The broth is really tasty, noodles thin yet aldente. I would have loved to add shio tamago though but I don't think they were serving it already that night. I'll definitely go back for my shio tamago! And yes the pork is very tender!

IPPUDO ramen

Next is the Akamaru Shinaji (P390). This is also IPPODU's original tonkatsu broth but with an added miso paste, and garlic oil. This was Richie's order that I want to try on my next visit. This is more of their modern-style ramen. It also has thin noodles, pork belly, lilurage, and spring onions.

IPPUDO ramen

And last but not the least, the Karaka-Men (P390). This is like the Akamaru Shinaji but the difference is the special spicy minced meat. So if you like spicy ramen, this will be the bowl for you.

noodles

If you want more noodles, you can order a serving of Kae-Dama (P70). Perfect for when you have more soup left and still more room in your stomach (which I doubt haha! It's all so filling!).

You may check the special suggested combination of ramen and toppings on the menu below.

Ready Steady Go Kids: Sports and Learning, Rolled Into One!

ready steadu go kids

My little Rainbow is already turning 3 this coming October. Most of the kids here in our neighbor, some even younger than Rain, have already started school in one of the nurseries in our village. And frankly I've been a bit pressured thinking I should also already send Rain to school. But at the same time, I also believe that the traditional schools focuses more on socializing. And I was worried that I might just compare Rain with other kids that might already know how to add. (exaggerating). But something inside me didn't feel that Rain is ready to start real school.

I want Rain to go to a place where she can do some fun activities and at the same time have fun in learning. A learning place that she won't be "graded" yet with the number of alphabets or numbers that she memorizes.

So now I'm thanking my lucky stars that I discovered Ready Steady Go Kids through the invite of Janice (Mommy Mundo). She introduced me and other mommy bloggers to the people who brought this brilliant Preschool sport and exercise program from Australia, and is now operating in more than 150 locations in Australia and across Asia! And I was so happy Rain got to try it!

Ready Steady Go Kids or RSG Kids is an awesome program that integrates sports + learning + fun all together. It's not your usual classroom and flashcard and blackboard set up. Since the program focuses a lot on sporty activities, the programs are held in covered courts, and two coaches facilitate each session. The dream is to introduce your kids to the world of sports so as to promote healthy lifestyle, for kids to develop a life long passion for sports, to help lessen childhood obesity, to give kids confidence, and more importantly for Rain, to prepare her for the real school. So she'll get more used to playing with other kids and to follow instructions from her teacher or coach. I think this will really give her an edge when she starts the real bigger school.

I was so interested that I signed Rain up for a free trial. First thing on my check list? Buy Rain rubber shoes!

hello kity shoes

I picked this pair at SM Aura's department store not only because it's Hello Kitty / girly / pink, but because the soles are so light, making Rain run with ease! Got it for P900+

treston college

Treston College in BGC. One of RSG's rented basket ball courts. Their other venue is in Valle Verde 5.

Treston's covered basketball court. First time I saw a basketball court in the second floor of a building. This is one sossy school! Oh sorry back to the program...

Before hand, the coaches informed us that we should arrive at least 15 minutes earlier so that the child can familiarize herself with the big venue. Once they run around and get their curiosity of the venue out of the way, they can focus more on the program. But because it slipped my mind that the time was same as end of classes, I underestimated the traffic in front of the school. We were at SM Aura which was technically only 5 minutes away. But because of after-school congestion in front of Treston, we were around 15 minutes late :(

ready steady go kids

But I really appreciated the fact that they waited for us before they started! (I really am so sorry for being late!) So anyway, so it begins... First the kids were called to sit in a circle formation and sing a getting-to-know-you song where they say their names. The teachers are referred to as "coaches". For this session, we were with Coach Meriel and Coach Sonny. Both excellent with kids and have a Level 1 Coaching qualification from Australia. Plus, at least one of the trainers available per session is trained for First Aid for pre-schoolers. This is good to know!

ready steady go kids

Parents can join the activity to help their child follow the instructions. I knew Rain's attention span would still be short so I joined in to help her stay put, and run after her when she gets distracted with the fun materials that are laid out on the other side of the gym to be used for later. That being said, it was a good call for me to also wear sneakers that day. But.....

ready steady go kids

... I should have also worn a bigger and more sporty shirt! Because after the greeting part came the warm up! The kids were asked to go to one side of the gym and go back and fourth a couple of times, each time in a different way. (Video at the bottom of this post)

ready steady go kids

First was to sprint, then to hop like a frog, then walk side ways like a crab, hop like a kangaroo, and more. I remember panting a lot after. Hahaha! But I was happy that Rain followed for most parts before she would run again to the other side of the gym towards the toys haha!

golf

And then finally, it was time to use the toys! They were going to learn how to swing a toy golf club and hit the ball! They were each given 3 balls, and on the coaches' cue, will hit the ball.  After hitting all 3 balls, the couch would ask them to get the basket and pick up the balls. And then hit the balls again. With this activity, kids will learned how to hit a ball, how to make it go in a direction they wanted, and how to clean up after themselves by getting the balls back. (This is just my unprofessional observation.) Of course during their first try, the little ones were all over the place, of course including Rain! They would get each others balls, and I ended up picking up the 3 balls for Rain of course. (Video at the bottom of this post)

ready steady go kids

Next was the hot potato game. They (well, we) pretended that the yellow ball was a potato. And when coach says "hot potato!" we would pass the ball around very quickly because it was "hot". And when coach says "cold potato", we would pretend to eat it. "Yum yum yum!" (Although personally I would rather eat fried potato. Not cold ones. Haha!)

obstacle course

From time to time they were asked to take a water break. And then it was time for the final activity, the obstacle course!

obstacle course

First they take a leap over these yellow plastic thingy... Go Rain! Go!!!

obstacle course

Then walk backwards following this curvy connected blocks in between their legs

golf

Then like a refresher activity, putt a golf ball inside a cone.

obstacle course

Then skippity skip on these hoops. (Together, apart. Together, apart)

hoola hoop

But I think she was more in the mood for some hoola hooping.

obstacle course

Then next was to zig zag around the cones, then step on the small square pillows "to avoid the hot lava", (both of which I didn't get a photo of)... and then finally, shoot the ball in the hoop! I asked Rain's yaya to accompany Rain in her second obstacle round so I can take the photos. Yes, Rain had so much fun that she wanted to have another go haha!

ready steady go kids

After all the kids had taken their turn/s on the obstacle course, the program was finished. Then it was time for a little cool-down stretching activity on the floor.

 volt in

They all had a final volt-in cheer and congratulated everyone for job well done! I liked how Coach Meriel and Coach Sonny asked the kids what they learned at the end of each session. Not to "test" them but to let the kids recap on their own, and refresh their minds on today's activities. Rain of course could not understand yet what the teacher was asking, and I couldn't really answer for her haha! But it was a delight to listen to the older kids answer "golf!" or "hit a ball" or "jump like a frog".

good job mark

And then Coach Meriel got her washable colored pens and drew fun pictures on the back of the kids hands as a Good Job mark!

good job mark

Rain got a sun and a flower! Her first ever good job stamp / mark! I felt like crying! But I totally held back my tears. I wasn't about to let them think I was crazy haha! I loved how Coach Meriel sung a nursery rhyme as she drew on the kids hands. Like when she was drawing the sun on Rain's hand, she gently sang Mr. Golden Sun :-)

At Rain's age, Coach Meriel believes that toddlers don't need to master alphabets and numbers as of yet. They will learn it eventually, slowly but surely. But we can't force them to ace it at this early age. Which I totally agree. Because when we force something too much, we take the fun out of learning. We could of course, introduce basic concepts of colours, numbers and shapes through play. And this is exactly what RSGK does, plus a whole lot more...

RSG Kids program will help develop kids' motor skills, hand-eye and foot-eye coordination, confidence,

And then in the long run, kids will learn about sportsmanship, playing by the rules, taking turns, encouraging and cooperating with other kids.

With all of this, it will definitely help prepare your kids for school readiness because they learn how to listen, follow instructions, and again, already are familiar with some basic colors, shapes, alphabets, and numbers.

And last but not the least, hopefully kids will develop the life love for sports through this program.

ready steady go kids

Ready Steady Go has different programs for three age groups. The Ready is for 2 and a half to 3 years old little toddlers like Rain, the Steady is for bigger toddlers 3-5 years of age, and Go for older children from 5-7 years of age. See the exact details of each program here.

ready steady go kids sports

RSGK reaches the fundamentals of 10 different sports stated in the image above. A total of 5 sports per term will be taught to kids.

I can safely say Rain had loads of fun! It's a great outlet for kids to push their physical activity to another level and at the same time learn in a very fun way! I myself am not at all sporty (I particularly hate ball sports because I'm so bad at it), so it would be nice for Rain to get exposed to sport activities at an early age. So I will be enrolling Rain for the next term in October!!! :-)

disney princess clip on dress

I've been seeing this toy in YouTube for quite some time now, because Rain keeps landing on them when she watches her favorite kiddie videos in YouTube (Disclaimer, with my supervision! I'm being defensive haha!). Anyway, since my little Rainbow is fond of playing with little dolls wherein she can alter them in some way, I thought she would really love these Disney Princess Clip On Dresses!

So back in June, when Richie asked me what toy he should get for Rain while he was in the states, this was on the top of my list!

disney princess clip on dress

Of course I was the one excited when they finally took them out of the box when they arrived after their month-long trip! I was actually star-struck haha! Turns out, Rain's Bita couldn't resist and got Rain almost all of the princesses! (Almost because Elsa and Anna were out of stock, as well as Belle, and Snow White)

disney princess clip on dress

Each Disney Princess comes with an extra clip-on dress.

Just squeeze the bottom of the dress to put or remove them.

disney princess clip on dress

I love that there are no metal spring parts anywhere in this toy. Instead they used a plastic bracket thingy to force the clip back shut. This means Rain can play with it in the bathtub as well, and nothing will rust. If in case someone accidentally dismantles them, it's easy to clip them back on.

 disney princess clip on dress

She loved them so much she asked us to open them right away!

disney princess clip on dress

Soon, when we were at a toy store in Eastwood Mall, We saw these! Two princesses that Rain didn't have yet. Belle and Snow White. So now we just need Elsa, Anna of Frozen, and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog.

disney princess clip on dress

She loves playing with it together with her PinyPons. She makes up skits in her own toddler language haha!

PinyPon and Disney Princess Dance-off?

Because the Princesses look so fab in their shiny gowns, here are some fashion shots! (OOTD shots if you will. Humor me please.)

The next generation Disney Princesses, Belle and Ariel. Jasmine is missing. I haven't seen any Jasmine version anywhere even in YouTube. Maybe because she wears pants?

And then the 3D animation generation of Disney Princesses, Merida and Rapunzel!

Back shot. Love Rapunzel's swirly and wavy long hair!

disney princess floating dolls

Mom also got Rain these floating princesses. Belle and Rapunzel. Their gowns are made of three flaps with foams under each flat, that open up and serve as their floaters. More on these on another post maybe.

Because one doll + dress set is quite pricey (Almost P600), I always make sure that they are all complete. 7 dolls, 7 dresses. Can't afford to lose one piece! Thank you again to my wonderful Mom in law for her awesome pasalubongs for the little Rainbow!!! :-)
