NIVEA Deodorants Whitening Range

Women nowadays are lucky because of the grooming choices we have in the supermarket to make ourselves feel more confident. And one of the problems of women underarms. Men don't have this problem because they don't shave. But women unfortunately are frowned upon when we have hair sticking out of our underarms. It just doesn't look good. So we have to shave. Unfortunately, shaving the underarms or plucking can cause the underarm skin to darken and get damaged.

But since there are so many choices, you have to choose the right one that fits you. Choosing goes beyond the scent and packaging. It actually all depends on how you take care of your underarms. Like how you groom it, and what your underarm goal would be. Thankfully, we have our work cut out for us as NIVEA teaches us how to determine the right deodorant for us.

With this, they have also has come up with a range of whitening deodorants that not only whitens, but repairs damaged underarms skin, and protects it from perspiration. These NIVEA Deodorants Whitening Range offers these 10 skin nutrients:

Vitamin C - prevents melanin formation, creates collagen and protects cells from damage.

Licorice which has Vitamin B and E - This lightens the skin and also reduces melanin formation

Avocado which has Vitamin K, Potassium, and Folate - Avocado hydrates and nourishes the skin with various nutrients.

Pearl which has Calcium Carbonate, Aspargin Acid, Clycin, and Alanin - This smoothens, lightens, softens skin while minimizing the pores.

NIVEA Whitening

The NIVEA Whitening Deodorant whitens and smoothens the underarms.

NIVEA Extra Whitening

The NIVEA Extra Whitening has the same ingredients but has 2 times more Licorice for those who really want a more intense whitening factor.

NIVEA Extra White & Firm

And then last but not the least, is the NIVEA Extra White & Firm that has a special ingredient called Firm Q10 which helps whitens, smoothens, and firms your underarms. This on the other hand as Licorice, Avocado, and Q10. The Q10 helps firm up the loose skin, lessening the appearance of wrinkles.

how to choose your deodorant

Now, the next thing is, how do you choose which one fits you well? As I mentioned earlier, it will depend on how you groom your underarm, and what your underarm goal is. See above this easy to understand chart from NIVEA!

NIVEA whitening lotion

Amazed with the whitening and firming powers of NIVEA Deos? Thankfully there's also a NIVEA body lotion that does this! NIVEA Instant White and NIVEA Extra White Firming Body Serum.

The NIVEA Instant White helps keep your skin firm with its Q10, and at the same time it's also got SPF15 to make your skin glow! It's specially formulated for Asian skin. It has Camu Camu and Acerola Cherry. These 2 fruit extracts offer up to 40x higher vitamin C to help whiten and repair damaged skin.

The NIVEA Extra Firming Body Serum on the other hand also has the Super Fruit Camu Camu extracts plus vitamin C with 95% purity. And to protect you from the harmful sun rays, it's got SPF 33. Plus, it also has Q10 that helps maintain the firmness of your skin.

NIVEA white and firm lotion

I also love how both lotions feel really light on my skin. It's non-sticky. And this is exactly the type of lotion I like.  In fact, you have to be careful when squeezing out the lotion because it's so fluid that it immediately rushes out.

What can I say? I really need all this! Thank you NIVEA for making it easy for us women to take care of ourselves while we take care of our families and our passion!

What Makes Snow Skin Whitening Lotion and Cream Special?

Snow Skin Whitening Lotion and Cream

I'm approaching mid 30s. Ugh. And I have to admit I'm scared of growing old. Getting wrinkles. You name it. That's why I take advantage of using products that I feel could help my skin. And I don't exactly have the best skin, as I've said time and time again. Heck I even use a beauty app sometimes just to be able to post a certain selfie. And in today's generation, we're lucky to have products easily available to us that have certain elements that help keep our skin healthy and young looking.

Thanks to Vida Nutriscience for constantly coming up with products that keep up with our skin needs. After SnowCaps, MySlim, and Snow Whitening Soap, comes Snow Skin Whitening Lotion and cream! It's got 7 actives that makes it so special. See how!

All these 7 Elite Skin Whitening Actives are clinically proven to help whiten skin and also to help your skin look younger.

1. IBR TCLC ( Colorless Carotenoids ) - This is extract from tomatoes. It has a unique instant redness reduction, it has a lightening effect, it is anti oxidation, and anti inflammatory.

2. IBR SnowFlakes - This is clinically proven to smoothen the skin, reduce wrinkles, and slows down skin ageing.

3. AlpaFlor GigaWhite -  This is a skin lightener developed from Alpine plants. It helps brighten skin and makes skin tone even. It also reduces the color intensity of age spots.

4. Melfade ( Bearberry Extract ) -   a solution of highly purified natural arbutin extracted from bearberry leaves (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) and a vitamin C derivative for skin care application. This helps lighten skin gently.

5. Alpha Arbutin -  extracted from the bearberry plant, it inhibits tyrosinase which prevents the melanin formation.

6. Beta Glucan ( SymGlucan ) - This is an oat extract that is used to penetrate intact human skin and help reduce the visible signs of aging. It gives moisture and comfort that improves firmness and elasticity of skin. It also protects skin cells against UV radiation. Plus, it also stimulates fibroblast growth and collagen synthesis.

7. Phenylethyl Resorcinol ( SymWhite 377 ) - Scientifically proven to brighten skin, and it's also a powerful anti-oxidant.

This is why you know that Snow Whitening Cream and Lotion is serious. It actually contains a high percentage of concentration of these 7 ingredients. Other products use very little percent only, and mix it with cheaper whitening actives like Kojic Acid or papaine.

Other manufacturers only use 0.01% of Alpha Arbutin (a very expensive but very effective whitening agent) white Snow Skin Whitening Lotion / Cream uses 2% which is the recommended % for whitening effect.

Snow Skin Whitening Lotion

Aside from these 7 serious Elite Skin Whitening Actives, may I just say that I love how light it feels on my skin. After applying, it doesn't feel greasy at all. Plus, I really love the smell! The Skin Whitening Lotion is for the body....

Snow Skin Whitening Cream

...while the cream is for the face. I use both at night after washing and toning.

Snow Skin Whitening Lotion and Cream will soon be available in Mercury Drugstores and Watsons with the following prices:

Snow Skin Whitening Cream - Php 1,499.00
Snow Skin Whitening Lotion - Php 799.00

I know it seems expensive but keep in mind that these 7 Active whitening agents are the real deal and are really expensive as well. It's not just any whitening product. So don't fret! :-)

GlobeGoWiFi

GlobeGoWiFi is a Premium WiFi service from Globe which is available already in Serendra BGC and more public places soon!

Jo Avila Photographer

We were able to try the speed of Go WiFi last November 26 during a food styling and photography session at Chelsea Grand Cafe in Serendra with expert food photographer and Canon ambassador Jo Avilla. He taught us simple tips on taking good food shots even when you're just using your mobile phone. I found it t be really useful especially since I take the photos for our food blog, ThePickiestEater.net

Jo Avilla Food Photography

Jo Avilla did a demo on different food shots, from bad to great, using just his smartphone and a little led flashlight.

Jo Avilla

And then right after, he uploaded the photos on his Instagram.

Jo Avilla Instagram

With just a few seconds, it was up and we could all view it. So as you can see, uploading photos on Instagram through GlobeGoWiFi is really quick!

GlobeGoWiFi

To make things more fun, we were divided into groups and we needed to make a fun video of our moments during the food photography 101. And we needed to upload and post it on Facebook. I was relieved that my groupmate was Chuckie Dreyfus, a fellow KTG Member, and the owner and author of www.chuckiedreyfus.ph , who has a real knack for editing videos and photos using only his smartphone. After quickly editing, Chuckie was able to very quickly upload it on his YouTube account, and then shared on his FaceBook timeline. And he was able to do it without any problems with the Globe Go WiFi.

Needless to say, we won! Woot woot! :-) Here's our group's video entry!

Gilberto Simpao Globe Telecom

Gilberto Simpao, Globe's Senior Vice President of Consumer Broadband said the reason for the fast free public internet is they have enough back hole to support multiple connections. Unlike in some other malls with free internet but is super slow. Sometimes it doesn't even load anything at all.

With GlobeGoWiFi, you have 60 minutes of free internet that you can use for the day. You can log out after a while and just resume until you've used up your 60 minutes. You can use any apps and surf through any website! There's no limit! Your free minutes will refresh the following day so you can have another hour of surfing once again.

Japan

A looooooooong overdue post. One year delayed to be exact. It's just that we enjoyed Japan so much that it was a bit too overwhelming for me to write about it. I didn't know how to start it. There were too many photos. So I've decided to make a photo blog post instead :-) And then I started doing the post, but couldn't stop telling stories and backstories. So I've decided to just make a series of Japan posts. So here's my first installment!

Family

Our Japan trip last year was a Christmas gift to my dad from my generous Tita Lourdes. It was her treat for my dad and my sister. So Richie and I thought it was a great opportunity to tag along with my dad on this out-of-the-country trip. So he bought me and Rain tickets as well so we could bond with my dad too! (Thanks hun!) And then my Tita Lourdes decided to get include us in the accommodations, Japan tour and Disneyland tickets as well as our Christmas gift. Thank you Tita!!! :-)

Mt. Fuji seen from the plane

As you approach Japan air, you can already see Mt. Fuji! Such a magical sight! It was my first time ti see a snow-capped mountain. Correction. It was my first time to see snow. Period. Even if it's miles away

Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome Tokyo

We checked in at Royal Park Hotel, The Shiodome, Tokyo. This is where my Tita Lourdes always stays when she goes to Japan so this is where they booked us as well. A hotel from that occupies Basement 2, 1st floor, and 24th to 38th floors of the Shiodome Tower. The rest of the floors below are occupied by offices.

Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome Tokyo

This is the hotel lobby. It's actually on the 24th floor of the Shiodome tower. And I forgot to take a photo but on the left side of the reception is an ATM-like machine which changes your USD to HKD. Pretty cool! Of course the exchange rate is a bit higher. But better than nothing.

Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome Tokyo

We stayed in a standard twin room. It was very classy, the size was just right especially for tourists who plans to always be out touring anyway. Just make sure you stuff your luggage inside the closet so you have more room to walk around. Another thing we noticed was that their bell man we women. I felt a bit weird and ashamed of letting them carry our luggage.

Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome Tokyo

Here's another view of the beds.

Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome Tokyo

Come morning, this is our breath-taking view!

Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome Tokyo

Here's the bathroom. I like the layout because as you can see, the bathtub is inside the enclosed shower space. So in case your toddler splashes water and makes a mess, the water will just go to the shower area, not on the whole bathroom floor.

Shiseido Hotel toiletries

Shiseido toiletries. Why not?

Shiseido toiletries. Why not? They come in big pump bottles too! This is brilliant because it's more environment-friendly instead of using plenty small plastic bottles. The down side? I don't think you can take it home. Haha! Monica Geller would go crazy to have this for her permanent collection.

Shiodome underpass

The great part about this hotel is that right below it is an access to a grand underpass which connects the hotel to Shimbashi and Shiodome train stations. Japanese people take the train a lot. They have like 16 or something train lines all in all. The most complicated I've seen. So you really have to have a map of the train lines when traveling around. Cabs are way too expensive. And always wear comfy shoes because there's a looooooot of walking from one station to another. This is also why all their underpasses are very nice. The one in the photo above an uncovered part of the underpass. It looks more like a park already.

Shiodome underpass

There was even a park there filled with Christmas lights that blinks choreographically with the Christmas music.

Shiodome underpass

This is another shot taken in the morning.

Shiodome underpass

Shiodome underpass

There are also wooden tables and chairs there where you can chill and eat. I just had to try McDonalds Japan hehe.

Tsurumaru Japan

While Royal Park Hotel is awesome, I would have to say that the BEST PART for me is the udon place that is right below the hotel by the underpass. My Tita really made sure she didn't fail to mention this to us while she briefed us before leaving. It's called Tsurumaru. It's affordable and delicious and just an escalator ride from the hotel.

Tsurumaru Menu Japan

Here's their menu displayed outside. This is really affordable considering it's in Japan. You know how they say everything is expensive in Japan. But this is really affordable and delicious!

Tsurumaru Japan

The inside is very laid back with a cafeteria style wherein you point at what you want, pay for it, then get a table. They serve lots of yakitori and lots of noodles.

Tsurumaru Japan

The chairs are bar-stool style. As you can see the place is not very big.

raw egg and soy sauce broth udon

Now this. THIS. Is the noodles that I can never ever forget! It's a raw egg and soy sauce broth udon. It looks dry but the broth is at the bottom. Just mix it all up!

Tsurumaru Ramen Japan

And Rain really really loved it too! Because we both loved it so much, I ordered another bowl. I couldn't help it!

Tsurumaru Ramen Japan

My Dad and Tita Bablou enjoying their hot udon!

Want to know the sad part? They close early :-( So we only got to eat here on our first night. On the other 3 days we arrived late from all the touring and they would be closed by then. I really hope they make their operations 24 hours. Good thing there's a Family Mart there as well.

Anyway that sums up my Japan hotel post. For rates, reservations, and for more information, head on to their official website at  HERE. Coming up, our Mt. Fuji - Hakone tour!

5th station, Mt. Fuji

I was going to make just one Japan post but the photos are just too many and I couldn't help but share my stories for each of the places we did there! So here's my blog post for our Mt. Fuji - Hakone Tour! This was our first tour in Japan.

First stop - MT. FUJI 5TH STATION. Before going to the 5th station itself, we stopped by this gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. We didn't stay long. We took this photo at the 2nd floor balcony because it was just so beautiful that we couldn't resist it! Then hurried back to the bus to go to station 5.

5th station, Mt. Fuji

Here's Rain at the 5th station on the way up to Mt. Fuji. This was the closest we could get due to the weather. The roads going up is becoming more slippery so this was as far as we could go.

On the way to our next stop, it suddenly started to snow. Of course everyone in the bus got really excited and started squealing! I guess almost everyone in the bus was as excited as we were to see snow for the first time.

Hakone Lake Hotel

Next was LUNCH AT HAKONE LAKE HOTEL where we had a western-style lunch

Hakone Lake Hotel

This is the restaurant of Hakone Lake Hotel. The tour guide will show you to your reserved table.

Hakone Lake Hotel

And this is what we had. They're set meals. We had prawn and chicken. with bread, soup, salad, and dessert. Vegetarian menu is also available but you have to request it ahead of time. According to the tour guidelines, the location of the restaurant and the menu might be changed due to operational reasons.

Hakone Lake Hotel

After lunch, we rushed outside to enjoy what's left of the mild snow. But Rain didn't seem to care about the snow. All she wanted to do was whip out her toys from her bag and play hahaha!

A video posted by Rina Zamora 🌈 (@rinasrainbow) on

But of course, I enjoyed every minute of it! After a few minutes the snow died down. But I was still very happy that we got to experience it!

Hakone Sky Gondola

Next stop was the HAKONE SKY GONDLA where you'll see the natural view of Hakone from up high.

Gondola ride Japan

Here's us at the Gondola. I'm just going to have to show Rain this photo to remind her we rode this because as you can see in the photo, she's out. She decided to snooze on the bus on the way here and didn't wake up until we were at our next stop.

Owakudani Valley Springs

Next stop was the OWAKUDANI VALLEY. An Ancient Crater where you  smell sulfurous fume and actually see clouds of steam rise from crevasses. Here's the view from the gondola. The smell of sulfur is very strong that you could smell it from inside the gondola.

Owakudani Valley

It was a BAD idea leaving the umbrella stroller in the bus. Because carrying a sleeping toddler wearing a heavy coat on top of layers of clothes is TIRING! I think it's obvious from my facial expression.

Owakudani Valley

She's awake! YES!!! Can't express my relief here enough!

Owakudani Valley

There's lots of shops there in Owakudani Valley. Filled with souvenirs and delicious snacks. You can actually walk a bit further up to see the hot springs. But we didn't go anymore, worried we would be left by the bus. So we focused on the snacks!

Japanese Ice CreamJapanese sausage

Like this delicious sausage, special soft serve ice cream with those crunchy chocolate thingy...

black egg Owakudani Valley

...and their famous black egg, which is said to extend your life by 7 (?) years or something like that if you eat it. Of course that's just myth. And the taste? Exactly like normal hard-boiled egg. The eggs are black because they're boiled in sulfurous hot spring.

Pirate Boat Cruise Lake Ashi

Next up... the PIRATE BOAT CRUISE ON LAKE ASHI. Feel like a pirate when you ride this Pirate ship-themed boat!

Pirate Boat Cruise Lake Ashi

I will never forget this moment because some of the tourists standing near us suddenly whipped out their cameras and took photos of Rain because they found her so cute :-) It was pretty cool!

Anyway, a little tip. It can get pretty cold on board during winter because of the wind blowing through as you sail to the other side of the crater lake. I'm so glad Richie got Rain this very warm fur jacket. Well, it's probably not real fur. But it sure is soft and fuzzy!

This was basically the last stop for the Mt. Fuji - Hakone tour. There's an option to ride the bullet train going back from Odawara to Tokyo. We were thinking of taking it just for experience but after calculating with my currency converter, we decided to just take the same tour bus instead. Haha! At least the bus would take us straight to our hotel.

If you're interested in this package you can check out more details here. More Japan posts to come!

SM SEASIDE CITY CEBU IS NOW OPEN!

SM Seaside City Cebu

Awesome news for Cebuanos! SM Seaside City Cebu is now open! It just opened last Friday, November 27 2015! This amazing new mall is is located on the waterfront of the brand new South Road Properties development. This is an amazing great addition to the second largest city and a major tourist center in the Philippines.

SM Seaside City Cebu

SM Seaside City Cebu is situated in the middle of the SM Seaside Complex that will soon be fully developed by SM Prime Holdings with an exciting plan to put up more structures in the South Road Properties (SRP). SRP is a prime property development project built on reclaimed land, and is just a few meters away from the central business district of Cebu.

The SM Seaside Complex, once completed, will be the center-to-be. It will be a place with hotels, residential towers, a school, hospital, and even a convention and exhibition center.

Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod

There’s a chapel that’s already built in the complex which is the Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod. Talk about having everything you need in one place! It really sounds like a great plan and I for one am now thinking that if I ever move to Cebu, I’ll definitely want to move there.

SM Seaside City Cebu

SM Seaside City is going to be like Manila’s SM Mall of Asia where you can watch the beautiful sunset through the mountains from the Mountain Wing side and is also visible through the SkyPark. While at the Cube side will be the beautiful sunrise.

SM Seaside City Cebu

And then instead of MOA’s gigantic steel globe in the middle of the property, SM Seaside City on the other hand will have the Cube. A steel cube sculpture that is 21- meter by 21 meter big, This symbolizes strength and stability and is a tribute to the resilience of the Cebuanos in particular and the Filipino people in general. When you view it from any angle, this sculptural piece appears the same.  This consistency symbolizes consistent quality service in all aspects of the mall. Plus a fun trivia...  the words Cube has the same letters as the word Cebu.

The Mall

SM Seaside City Cebu

Let’s talk about the mall now. SM Seaside City Cebu is designed spectacularly by Arquitectonica, an international architecture, interior design, and planning firm from Miami, FL. That’s why it is going to be grand and a first of its kind.   Its got a beautiful nautilus design concept. It’s like a spiral shell with a pearly partition. This allows a series of expanding with its concentric arcs.

SM Seaside City Cebu

The interiors just look classy and clean, don’t you think?

SM Seaside City Cebu

I love the spiral stairs!

The Stores

SM Seaside City Cebu Launch

The mall will have multiple anchors that includes a two storey SM Store.

SM Seaside City Cebu Supermarket Launch

It will of course have an SM Supermarket,

SM Appliance Center SM Seaside City Cebu

Watsons

Watsons...

SM Seaside City Cebu

Our Home, Kultura Filipino, Toy Kingdom, Surplus, Sports Central, and ACE Hardware will all be there as well, as always.

SM Seaside City Cebu Food court

Aside from these, there will be over 400 shops, which includes specialty restaurants, international brands and food chains, plus of course the Food Court.

The Movies

SM Seaside City Cebu movie house

For movie-goers, there will be state of the art Large Screen Cinema Powered by Christie’s

Director's Club SM Seaside City Cebu

SM Seaside City Cebu Director's cut

There will also be two Director’s Club, and even a Live Theater called Centerstage which has 854 seats.

SM Seaside City Cebu Bowling Center

For those who love sports and amusement, there’s a 16-lane bowling center, an amusement center, plus.... Wait for it...

SM Seaside City Cebu Skating Rink
AN OLYMPIC SIZE SKATING RINK! This is truly one of the highlights in SM Seaside City! This is the only Skating rink in the whole Visayas and Mindanao!

Forever 21 and Uniqlo

International Brands will be present as well.  H&M, Uniqlo, Forever 21, and Sfera, will all be there!

Of course, SM Seaside City Cebu will still be very “Cebu” as they will also showcase homegrown brands like those from the Golden ABC Group, Penshoppe, Oxygen, Forme, Memo, and Regatta; as well as Island Souvenirs and Loalde.   And from the food side, there’s Café Laguna, Kuya J, Harbour City (Richie’s favorite), Majestic, Golden Cowrie, and Bo’s Coffee, among others.

Sky Park SM Seaside City Cebu

Another thing to look forward to is The Sky Park.  Come up and breathe fresher air! Relax and dine in diverse dining outlets while surrounded by greenery and water features. And soon, there will be a playground built here designed by Kenneth Cobonpue.

SM Seaside City Seaside Tower

And let’s not forget the Iconic Seaside Tower.  This will be the landmark. This tower  is 148 meters high, with a coffee shop and restaurant where you can dine and enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the city.

Another thing to look forward to is their partnership with Manila Ocean Park to bring Ocean Park in this complex!

Parking? No problem! They have a covered parking area with 4,336 slots.

The Launch

SM Seaside City Cebu Launch

So last November 26, SM VIPs from Manila and even abroad all flew to  Cebu and gathered together for the Grand Opening and blessing of the SM Seaside City. This is definitely new the-place-to-be  in Cebu!

SM Seaside City Cebu Launch

Here are some photos from the grand opening. The event was graced by Tim Yap,  Crystal Belo, Michael Lim of Fashion Pulis , and more!

Congratulations once again to SM Prime Holdings and also a huge congratulations to Cebuanos for having another great place to create fun and wonderful memories!

What Does a Dermaroller Do?

$
0
0
Child birth is a wonderful thing! And each pain or scar left in our body will always be worth it, all for our little bundle of joy! But of course, I still kind of wish my stretch marks would go away magically.

Apparently there are a lot of ways to treat stretch marks, pitted skin, and cellulite such as creams and cosmetic lasers.  And then there's the Dermaroller, which I only heard about recently. Apparently it's a heaven-sent because it's budget-friendly than other skin treatments, but still produces great results.

But first, it may be helpful if we first understand possible causes of skin issues.

What Causes Skin Issues

Skin problems are the result of many things like icky toxins in our surroundings or too much sun exposure.  And of course, no matter how much we try to avoid the topic, aging is truthfully a major factor.  When our skin ages, it stops making enough collagen and elastins to rejuvenate the old cells.  It loses elasticity and the cells don't stick together well, leaving unsightly stretch marks. I guess it's the same as metabolism getting weaker as we age.  As our body gets older, the skin stops repairing itself as quick as it used to and wrinkles develop. It sucks. I know.

So What Exactly Does a Dermaroller Do?

The Dermaroller uses a process called micro-needling or collagen induction therapy to promote skin reparation.  This simple-looking hand held device looks like a short rolling pin with numerous medical grade needles.  It is rolled across the surface of the skin to create tiny punctures (ouch?). Apparently, the body reacts to the punctures by going into repair mode.  In repair mode, collagen and elastin are produced in the actual pores of the skin and new cells are generated.  The result is thicker, tighter skin.

The process of micro-needling is like acupuncture, but using multiple needles. The depth of the needles depends on what is being treated.  For deeper treatments, it is best to use it with a numbing cream to make it less uncomfortable. That is not really necessary for more superficial punctures.

What Skin Conditions Can Dermarollers Treat?

The answer is quite a few. Various scar types can be treated, such as light surgical, light burn, and acne scarring (I totally need this!).  It may not remove them 100%, but it can help reduce them to be less noticeable.

Wrinkles or stretch marks are not exactly a pretty sight, but thankfully with the Dermaroller, these are the most popular skin conditions treated it can treat.  Loving this more already.

How Long Does A Dermaroller Treatment Run For?

Every procedure is different, depending on where on specific parts of the body that needs the treatment.  It go for as quick as ten minutes or a maximum of 45 minutes.  Plus of course, it depends on the severity of the skin issue.

And of course, it also depends on the kind of results you wish to obtain.  With mild skin conditions, you may get noticeable results with just one treatment.  Scars and blemishes on the other hand will need multiple sessions.

But as always, with any medical issues, always consult a medical expert before anything else. In this case, of course, a consultation from a dermatologist would be smart. A dermatologist would be the best to tell you which procedure is best for your condition.  There are other treatment options out there, such as the ones you can see here.

So ladies, be sure to research each procedure first to find which ones suit you and your wallet before deciding. Good luck to us!

Longchamp Le Pliage Neo Large

Longchamp is the only branded bag I've grown to love because it's so simple, it's very sturdy, I can just dump my everyday stuff (and that's a lot!) and it still won't look too stuffed. I have to admit I didn't like it at first. But maybe that was because I haven't experienced having one at that time. But when I bought my first ever Longchamp, I slowly felt it was the perfect bag for people like me who have to carry lots of things in their bag everyday, but still look classy but laid back.

I bought my first one at Lazada. It was a Longchamp Le Pliage Neo, Large with a long handle. I was worried at first that it might be a fake one. But fortunately, after researching and checking for indicators of a fake Longchamp bag, it passed. And when you hold it it really feels like top quality.

Longchamp Le Pliage Neo Large

Lazada delivered it to me in a plastic, with the Longchamp paperbag folded inside.

I just really love the size! I always bring a lot of stuff with me. No matter how much I try to eliminate things in my bag, I still end up with a bulk. Go figure. The curse of the mommy. Hahaha. So the Longchamp large for me is really perfect

Japan Chronicles: Tokyo Disneyland!

Tokyo Disneyland

Aaaah... The highlight of my Japan trip! (Actually this is tied with the little snow we experienced in Hakone because it was my first time ever to experience snow)

Being a Disney fan, I decided that it would be cool (even cooler if I can make it come true), to visit Disneyland in different holidays. For the simple reason that Disneyland dramatically transforms as well based on holidays. Thus giving you a different experience every time.

Rain, my sister Chai, my dad, my Aunt Bablou, and I were all very lucky to be able to visit Tokyo Disneyland, thanks to my generous Tita Lourdes who gave us a generous treat! The moment the Japan trip was brought up, I was already set that we would not leave Japan without going to Disneyland! <3

Tokyo Disneyland train station

We took 3 train rides from our hotel to Tokyo Disneyland. Because Japan's train lines are a lot and are very clean and organized, it wasn't a hassle commuting by train at all. In fact, it was very quick! Before we knew it, we were there!

Tokyo Disneyland

I was extra excited for my sister, because this was her first time to go to any Disneyland! I'm sure she will be as starstruck as I was during my first time. (Actually I'm always starstruck every time! This is my 3rd Disneyland experience). Here she is when we got to the "Tokyo Disneyland" arch!

Tokyo Disneyland

My heart is always giddy with joy when entering a Disneyland park! And yes if I could only take photos of each signage and corner I would.

Tokyo Disneyland Christmas

After getting our tickets, we entered and was greeted by this huge Christmas tree display. Oh, I should probably mention that this was last December 2014. Delayed post!

Tokyo Disneyland Christmas Parade

And after walking past the Christmas tree and the crowd, we finally got to see the castle! The crowd was huge! No wonder. The Christmas Parade was ongoing. This means we get to see Mickey and Minnie and the gang in Christmas outfits! <3

Tokyo Disneyland

There was so much people that it was hard for Rain to see the parade. My dad carried her on his shoulders :-)

Tokyo Disneyland Christmas Parade

There's Mickey and Minnie!

Tokyo Disneyland Christmas Parade

And the man of the month, Santa Claus!

Tokyo Disneyland

When the parade was done, that's when we got to see the statue of Walt Disney holding hands with Mickey Mouse. It's always been my dream to see this! I thought this statue was only in Disney World. Happy that I was wrong :-)

Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland is huge. Well, also because my only point of reference is Hong Kong Disneyland. In fact, upon realizing how big Tokyo Disneyland is, I felt so overwhelmed and I felt sad and frustrated at the same time, knowing that we were only going to be there for just one day. There was so much to do but so little time. But I really couldn't complain. One day in Disneyland is better than zero days.

Tokyo Disneyland Meals

We haven't had breakfast yet so we went to the first food place we saw. Plaza Restaurant on Tomorrowland. We had these cute Mickey bowls of I think beef curry with egg.

Mickey Egg

Check out the hard boiled egg with a Mickey Mouse yolk center. Pretty cool!!! :-) Until now I still can't figure out how they do it.

Tokyo Disneyland Monster's Inc

The first ride that we went to was Monsters Inc Ride and Go Seek.

Tokyo Disneyland Monster's Inc

Here's the building from outside. But wait 'till you see the inside!

Tokyo Disneyland Monster's Inc

The dome is just beautiful and looks exactly like the movie.

Tokyo Disneyland Monster's Inc

There was even the reception area where Mike's monster girlfriend works.

Tokyo Disneyland Monster's Inc

Inside, you get to ride a tram in the dark and see funny monsters pop up. This is one of the most popular rides here I think because it's one of the rides with Fast Pass. We didn't get Fast Pass so we were in line for what seemed like forever, especially with the fact that I was with a 3 year old that was getting impatient already. Big mistake. I didn't think we would really need it. But I guess I didn't expect that the crowd here in Japan is times 5 or something compared to Hong Kong Disneyland, the only Disney Park I've been to prior to Tokyo.

Tokyo Disneyland toon town

After the long line wait and the short ride, we started plotting out the rides we wanted to try given that we had very limited time in such a huge park. We started walking around and we saw Toon Town. It was so cute! Too bad we didn't get to try any of the attractions there. So I just took photos for now.

Tokyo Disneyland Toon Town

Not sure what's inside. But I bet it's loaded with cuteness.

Tokyo Disneyland Daytime parade

As we were walking around, another parade started. It was the Daytime Parade: Happiness is Here wherein everything just looked really vibrant and happy and colorful! Apparently Tokyo Disneyland has more than one kind of parade in a day. This made it more overwhelming and at the same time frustrating because I wanted to see all the parades. This meant we had to make sure we schedule our rides around the parade hours haha! But we were able to do it! Yay!

Here's a video from Tokyo Disneyland Website. I'm just going to use theirs because the videos I took are crappy.

Tokyo Disneyland It's A Small World

Because we were with Rain, we stuck with the kid-friendly but pretty and fun rides. Like the happiest cruise that ever sailed 'round the world: It's A Small World After All!

Tokyo Disneyland Haunted Mansion

And of course, we wanted to go on something spooky. Like the Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare! This was another long line. But I think Rain was happily asleep during the line so it was a relaxing wait and hehe. But she was awake during the ride.

The only thing was that during the ride, in my experience, it stopped for like 3 times, everything as well as the music and the scary stuff immediately stopped, then a recorded female voice came on the speakers and said something in Japanese. Of course we couldn't understand. Probably some mechanical error or something. Or maybe someone was trying to stand on the ride? I wish I knew why.

Tokyo Disneyland night parade

After the Haunted Mansion, it was time to save a spot by the Parade route for the Electrical Parade Dreamlights. It's Tokyo Disneyland's night parade and it was one of the most beautiful parade I've ever seen!

And here's the video also from Disneyland Tokyo. My favorite float? GENIE! :')

Tokyo Disneyland Peter Pan

After that beautiful parade, we hurried to one of the closest rides from where we were staying. Peter Pan. I thought this ride would be a simple one for kids. But I actually enjoyed it. Truly there's always something unique in each Disney ride. At Peter Pan, the rail tracks are above, and a Pirate's Ship hangs on it. So when you ride it, it feels like you're flying over England and Peter Pan and the gang. Awesome!

While the Disney in the Stars Fireworks was the big finale at Hong Kong Disneyland, in Tokyo Disney, for me, this was definitely the big bang. The Once Upon A Time Castle Projection Show. There were so many people that's it was a challenge to see clearly. Maybe if you position yourself further you would get a better view. Anyway, of course I wanted my little Rainbow to see the whole show, so I was carrying her and raising her the whole time. I probably burned tons of calories during the whole duration of the show doing that. But it was soooo totally worth it! Especially during the Tangled part (4:40 in this video that I got from YouTube user Theme Park Review. During this time, my sister and I failed fighting back tears and had goosebumps all over :') Especially at 5:36 when the lanterns were floating up, reminding me of the King and Queen's love for their missing daughter. WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! I totally lost it  :(((   It was just. So. Beautiful.

Tokyo Disneyland fireworks

And then there was the fireworks, which I have to say, was less spectacular compared to Hong Kong Disneyland. But still beautiful non the less :-) Finally, it was almost closing time. This is the time when we checked out the souvenir shops. Being a cellphone casing addict ( it's a sickness really), I was on the lookout for beautiful cases for my then new phone. But unfortunately they didn't have my phone model yet because it was fairly new. I was really bummed because the designs were so pretty!!!

Snow White Phone Casing

Snow White with the magic mirror (a real mirror)

Disney Princess phone casing

One shoe can change your life! Can you tell which shoe belongs to which Princess? :-)

Japanese Minnie Mouse doll

And I wanted to get a Disney souvenir that screams Japan so I was so happy I found this Minnie Mouse mini doll wearing a kimono and Japanese slippers <3

I vow to go back to Tokyo Disneyland hopefully in the near future and spend at the very least 2 days there. Or maybe try Disney Sea first! :-)

Playa Tropical Beach Resort

My family, both sides, are both from Ilocos Norte. Bangued, Abra, to be exact. So ever since we were kids, we would go to Bangued every Summer and Christmas vacation to spend time with my grandmother and aunts. But since my Tita Eva has been based in San Fernando La Union, they decided to move there instead. I think I was in 7th grade when they moved.  So starting then, we would visit my Lalo Lalo in San Fernando La Union. (Lalo Lalo is what I would call my grandmother when I was a toddler because I could not pronounce "Lola" so that kind of stuck with everyone). Anyway, needless to say, it's been a very long time since we last went past La Union.

Years later, my Tita Eva started working in the states. So when she came back from the states last year to spend her vacation with us, she booked us all a room at Playa Tropical Resort Hotel in Currimao, Ilocos Norte so we could all relax there, including my grandmother, and just have a great time!

Playa Tropical Beach Resort
Playa Resort Reception
This was the time when a big storm struck Ilocos, so we almost didn't make it. On our road trip first attempt from San Fernando going to Currimao, we had to turn back because a lot of the roads were still flooded. The following day it was all better. So we finally arrived after 3-4 hour drive I think.

Ilocos Norte Map (Image source)
Currimao is the 3rd province in Ilocos Norte after exiting Ilocos Sur.( It's the province right before Paoay, where the famous Paoay Sand Dunes are located.  So you need to schedule a day in Paoay to make the most out of your Ilocos trip! (Coming up on a separate post!)

Playa Tropical Beach Resort

. The place was pretty nice. Simple but nice!

In the middle by the pond are "floating" cottages where you can dine. I think you can rent these cottages during the day or something. I loved hanging out here while enjoying the breeze.

Drinks at the beach

This is also where we hung out and had some margaritas!

Playa Tropical Beach Resort

And here's a panoramic shot of the infinity pool! The place is really pretty. I honestly think it just needs a teeny tiny bit of maintenance. But I love the over-all feel of the resort.

Thank you God for clear skies!

For the food, we enjoyed their super cheesy cheese sticks

All in all, we enjoyed hour stay at Playa Tropical Resort. I guess a big factor was also that we felt we had the whole resort to ourselves (because of the previous storm, I guess no one else thought of going to the beach haha!) Thank you Tita Eva and Tito Tony for the fun vacation!!!

Another Reason to Visit Taal Vista: Tāza Fresh Table!

Taza Fresh Table

We've stayed in Taal Vista a couple of times already. It's definitely the first place in mind when we think of relaxing in the cool weather of Tagaytay. In fact, it's so cool to look back during our first time at Taal Vista and another family trip 2 years ago when Rain was still small. We've been back plenty times since then. And a lot of nice changes as occurred as well. One of which is Taal Vista's old Magnolia Pavillion which has now been converted to a delicious farm-to-table concept restaurant, Tāza Fresh Table.

Tāza Fresh Table

It was a pleasure for us to experience Tāza once again for dinner during our staycation there with our other blogger friends who love food as much as we do. The structure used to be Magnolia Pavillion where they held functions and Sunday masses before. And they did a great job transforming it into a classy but homey restaurant.

Tāza Fresh Table

Comfortable seating everywhere! But anyway, moving on to the food!

MEZZE starters

We started with the MEZZE starters (P769) served with flat breads. You can choose 4 from 10 different spreads. But for the night, we had Hummus, Sautéed Chicken Liver, Babaganoush, and everyone's favorite, the Spinach with .... wait for it... BACON JAM! It's the kind of starter that would make you fear that you might get full already because it's just so good!

Tāza Salad

For greens, we had the Tāza Salad (P411) made with farm-fresh romaine, microgreens, wild arugula, beets, radish, cherry tomatoes, Cebu dried mangoes, sprinkled with quinoa, and drizzled with a la minute tarragon - white wine vinaigrette. Truly a fresh salad that's nice to have before a heavy meal.

Alugbait Salad

We also got to try their new Warm Local Spinach Salad (P487), also another delicious salad with a mixture of different flavors and textures. Vegetarians will be happy with all of Tāza's salads for sure.

Seafood Stew

We also had this heart warming Seafood Stew (P602) composed of fish, squid, mussels, and shrimp all stewing in a tasty spiced tomato broth.

Squash Agnolotti

The Squash Agnolotti (P394) was absolutely *mwah*! Aldente Agnolotti stuffed with delicious sweet squash, sprinkled with toasted nuts and lots of cheese! Drooling right now :(

Mushroom and Spinach Matagliati

Here's another favorite of mine. The very creamy Mushroom and Spinach Matagliati (P427). You will hardly ever notice that there's a leaf inside there because of its creaminess. Plus, I love love love mushrooms! So this is a winner for me.

I'm definitely going to try their other pasta soon as everything sounds delicious! Oh I was able to try their Lobster Fetuccini! Read about it here!

Beef Stew

Next is the Beef Stew (P635) is also very hearty, with a melt-in-your-mouth beef, and a very flavorful broth.

Homemade Bacon

Of course, the dinner would not be complete especially for my Richie, my picky eater husband, without the Homemade Bacon (P191). These beautiful slabs of bacon are cured for 10 days and then smoked for 6 hours. It is served with an apple-mango compote.

Taza Sampler Pizza

Tāza Fresh Table also makes delicious pizzas. If you can't make up your mind on which pizza, you can try their Sampler Pizza (P761) with all the flavors in it. There's Zucchini and Squash Blossom, Salsa Verde wit Pancetta, Four Cheese, and Margherita. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the pizza dough.

Tomahawk Porkchop

Now let's head on to the more serious stuff. Entrees. And this Tomahawk Porkchop (P865) really caught everyone's attention as soon as it was brought out. The Tomahawk pork chop were simply but ingeniously  cooked with caramelized onions, bananas, and pork jus.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Tart

And for dessert, all hail their new Peanut Butter and Jelly Tart (P219)! This gorgeous piece of dessert has all the right ingredients to make it an addicting one.

Olive Oil Ice Cream

This next dessert is not an ordinary vanilla ice cream. Although it may look like it. This is Olive Oil Ice Cream (P235)! And it is glazed with Tagaytay Pineapple. This is definitely a pleasurable way of cleansing one's palette.

Tāza Fresh Table is just one of the many reasons why staying or visiting Taal Vista is such a delight.

Awesome Sand Dunes in Paoay, Ilocos Norte

Feeling "driver" haha!

When we were in Currimao, Ilocos Norte touring with my Tita as I mentioned in my previous post, We decided to drive to the next province as well just to check out the other things we could do there for the day. There was the very old and beautiful Paoay church, and the Malacanang of the North. But then we also saw signs everywhere that says "Sand Dunes". And so we figured, why not check it out? Who knows when we'll be back in Paoay, right? And I'm glad we did! Because it was one of the coolest experience I've ever had in the Philippines!

4x4 jeep Suba Paoay Sand Dunes

I really wasn't 100% sure what to expect. I thought it would just be a hot uncomfortable sand-y experience. As we drove up, the place called Suba Sand Dunes, we saw these 4x4 jeeps parked.

hot pink 4x4 jeep

There was even a hot pink one!

green 4x4 jeep Suba Paoay Sand Dunes

But we were asked to use this cool green one. I think you can't really pick which 4x4 you want to ride on because they rotate the jeeps so all jeeps get enough rest (and so it's fair to the other jeeps hehe) Still cool!

4x4 jeep Suba Paoay Sand Dunes

I felt an extra jolt of excitement when we noticed that there were no car seats at the back. Standing ovation! Haha! So the thought of riding at the back of a jeep through sand dunes with the wind blowing in your face seemed like an inviting activity! But since we were with Rain, (yes she's my little daredevil), I had to sit at the passenger seat with her on my lap.

Disclaimer: The sand dunes guys told us that Rain could ride as long as she's brave enough, and as long as she sits in front with an adult.

Suba Paoay Sand Dunes

Here we gooooo! I was thinking to myself that if ever I do come back

As soon as we saw the sand dunes, I was in awe. I never knew there was a place like this in the Philippines. It's 88 hectars of pure sand. I totally felt like we were suddenly in the Middle East. And this is not man made, mind you. It's all natural. Why there are this much sand here in this area of Paoay, I still don't know. But who cares because it's spectacular!

A video posted by Rina Zamora 🌈 (@rinasrainbow) on

Then, the driver drove faster and drove down the sand dunes making us feel like we were aboard a roller coaster! It's really thrilling!

As we drove up, a sand dune, we were suddenly met with a breathtaking view of the West Philippine Sea! The view was just amazing!

Suba Paoay Sand Dunes

Part of the attraction is stopping in different areas of the area to take awesome photos. What I loved about the Suba Sand Dune drivers is that they know how to take nice photos, and they even know the features of my phone that would best capture this amazing place. He took panoramic shots all by himself! Galing ni Kuya! I was really surprised!

He also took this video of us going down a sand dune

Suba Paoay Sand Dunes

After a few more sand dunes, we stopped over right by the beach to take more photos.

Beach

And I have to say, the beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever soon.

It looked like a shooting location for a Hollywood movie! It was a long wide beach with strong waves.

Beach sand at Paoay

The sand by the beach looked like small tiny rocks. But the weird part was that it wasn't painful on the feet even if you walk barefoot.

Suba Paoay Sand Dunes
Mandatory jump shot!

This was really an awesome experience. As we were leaving, I couldn't help but wish that Richie and my Zamora family, especially Rain's cousins, could experience this because I just know they will enjoy it. But I didn't think they would be up for the long road trip.

Fortunately, my wish came true! On January 2016, my Dad in law's friend invited the whole family over to Sinait and stay at their private beach house! And guess what? Sinait is just an hour or so drive from Paoay! So I told them we really had to go. So....

Culili Sand Dunes Paoay

TADAAAA!!!!!

Three 4x4 jeeps with the Zamora clan!

Culili Sand Dunes Paoay

This time we went to the Sand Dunes in Culili Point. Because this is the first Sand Dunes sign we saw from Paoay Church. Apparently there is more than one Sand Dunes attraction points there in Paoay.

Sand dunes Paoay

Happy standing passengers! Picky Eater hubby Richie, my pretty and talented niece Cara (author of the awesome blog Crave the World), and my bro in law Ryan. I know I said that the next time I return, I wanted to experience riding at the back. But I felt better being the one holding Rain at the front :) So I'm back to the passenger seat :-)

Sand dunes Paoay

What's even more surprising is that Dad and Mom rode too! :-) I was so happy! We just told their driver to drive at a safer pace. Mom rode in front and had her seat belt on. And guess what? They really enjoyed it!

Beach jump shot
Excuse my tummy

Mandatory beach jump shot with my sister Raquel, cousin Pia, and Niece Cara :-) Tip: If you decide to wear kicks like I did, make sure you bring extra shoes and socks or slippers in case your shoes accidentally get wet by the beach. The waves attacked  our legs right after this jump shot. So I was walking with squishy shoes after. Eeeeeeew.

Sand boarding Paoay

Something we didn't do the first time I went was sand boarding. So I'm glad that we got to try it this time.

Sand boarding Paoay

The slope was very steep, and I for one am always a wuss when it comes to slides. Even with children's slides I'm always hesitant to make that first push. But my daredevil 4 year old girl wanted to go. So no choice si mommy haha!

That's it! Thanks for reading my experience with these amazing sand dunes. When you go to Paoay, make sure you visit the Paoay Church, there's also Paoay Lake which we didn't get to go to, and the Malacanang of the North. But if you want something awesome don't ever skip the Sand Dunes! :-) Oh, and the driver also told us that in March, the place looks more amazing because there are no weeds or plants. Just pure sand everywhere! I can imagine how spectacular that looks! The Paoay Sand Dunes is definitely something one must experience when planning a trip to Ilocos Norte.

Educational Toys from Discovery Depot (And A Cool New Activity Nook for Your Next Party!)

Rain has already started going to school as a Kindergarten student. We enrolled her in school because we felt like she needed an outlet for all her energy and also so she could socialize with other kids rather than stay at home and play by herself. But because of K to 12, the school told us that at Rain's age, she needed to be in Kinder 1 already. I honestly felt she was still so much in the play-only stage and might lag behind in academics. True enough, at the begging of the school year, all she did was act like a supervisor as she walks around the classroom during lectures and just wants to play. But her teacher told me that this was normal and she will eventually reach that maturity age where she would take lessons more seriously. In this second half of the school year, the teacher said she has improved already and hardly picks a fight with the boys anymore ha ha ha *nervous laughter*.

So if you're in the same situation, don't worry, it's normal. And you are not alone! From the ages of 1-4, all toddlers want to do is play. They never get tired of entertaining themselves with toys, and sometimes even make toys out of normal everyday stuff. But too much playing is not a bad thing because as we all know, this is how they learn and socialize. So as much as we like to spoil Rain with plenty Disney toys, (and by "we" I mean me), it is also very important to get toddlers toys that would 1.) be educational, and 2.) would last a lifetime.

Luckily for us here in the Philippines, we have Discovery Depot who provides toys that are not only educational but safe as well for little kids. They provide toys that help with a child's sensori-motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills for as early as new born until 12 years old.

Counting Ball Toy

Take for example Rain's new Counting Balls toy by Wonderworld. I chose to get this for her specifically because she's looks like she's least interested in Math (like mother like father like daughter hahaha). It's a really simple toy but is ingeniously engineered to make counting fun and easier to learn.

Counting Ball Toy

This is how it looks like. It's just one piece and there's no need to build anything. It looks like a wooden aquarium of balls. The paint used is non-toxic, making it safe for kids of all ages. There's a lever on the side that flips the balls up, and there are numbers on the exact spots where the balls would land, making counting and number familiarization easier.

Counting Ball Toy

It's so smart that it also teaches the concept of addition and subtraction. You add balls using the lever, and you subtract using the knob.

See how it works on our video below!

She really loves it! She's been playing it for days!

Counting Ball Toy

Counting Ball Toy

Clearly this is one of the best toy investments we've gotten for Rain. I heard from a friend who bought the same toy 7 years ago that it is still in tact. Talk about quality! You can definitely check out more educational toy brands for all ages from Discovery Depot's official website at thediscoverydepot.com and like them on Facebook.

Another excellent news from Discovery Depot: TOPmla!

You know how in some children's parties there are activity booths that can be rented out to provide entertainment for the kids? Like Lego tables, etc.? Well, now there's a new alternative that provides super fun toys that are educational too!

Last July 2015, Discovery Depot launched TOPmla (The Offbeat Party)packages. This is a service for hire for parties and corporate events where your guests' children can  have a corner where they can have a meaningful and educational play. This gives the children a chance to exercise their bonding and social skills with other kids as well. And maybe even develop friendship that will last a lifetime!

The Offbeat Party Manila

The Offbeat Party offers a fun add-on play area activity for kids for any events such as birthdays, weddings, bazaars, or even corporate events. Something to keep your kids preoccupied.

The activities include the following:
  • reading nook
  • play area
  • arts & crafts
  • interactive play (role-playing toys and sports toys)
  • eco friendly wooden toys
  • toys that will help them develop their fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination.

Here are some photos so you get an idea of how it looks:

The standard set up is 4m length x 2m width in floor area, but it can be customized according the the client's needs.

wooden toys

All toys are cleaned before and after use, making it safe for each event. And as I mentioned earlier, the toys are wooden and are made from eco-friendly and non-toxic materials. And if you or your child falls in love with a toy, you can purchase them at 20% off on all toys on site.

To reserve the TOPmla for your event, you need to deposit only P1,000 for them to hold the date. Take note this is non-refundable, but will be deducted from the total amount. The duration of the event is usually 3 hours but they can extend for an additional fee.

I personally feel that the Offbeat Party is a great thing to have for parties to keep our little ones busy, while having fun and making friends for life. With Discovery Depot, children and adults can Celebrate+Play+Bond!

I think I can safely say that everyone enjoys eating in buffets. Our family in particular. Seeing a huge spread of different cuisines that you can get as many times as you want can be overwhelming, More so when the buffet theme is WAGYU! This is not a fantasy that I'm making up. This is REAL! And you can experience it every Saturday Dinner for the whole year of 2016 only at EDSA Shangri-La's HEAT!

Mad for Wagyu

For P2,415 nett, indulge yourself in a buffet with varieties of Wagyu recipes with MAD FOR WAGYU! This is like the Disneyland of Wagyu meat, I'm telling you!

Wagyu beef jerky

For starters, behold the Wagyu beef jerky. It's like bacon, looks like bacon, as crispy as bacon, but beef. This is so addicting I could eat it all day.

Wagyu beef jerky

And every one of us felt the same!

Wagyu beef jerky

It's so delicious that later on, our friend Eugene (Mr. Hefty Foodie himself) ingeniously created this Wagyu Beef Jerky-silog! He got some Wagyu Fried Rice, asked for 2 eggs, and voila! Genius!!!

Wagyu Roast Beef

In this buffet, WAGYU is KING! Check out this gorgeous Wagyu Roast Beef at the carving station.

Look at how juicy that looks!

And this Wagyu Tomahawk is just begging to be carved!

Also by the carving station, these beautiful and colorful Philly's Steak Sandwich!

Wagyu grill station

And if you think the Wagyu can only be seen at the carving station, you would be wrong. Wagyu also conquers a lot of stations including the Grill Station.

Here you will see piles of Wagyu burger patties, beautiful slices of Wagyu Sirloin, Wagyu Ribeye.

You may also use these sauces for the Wagyu Beef Tartare, if you like raw beef that is.

Wagyu Xiao Long Bao

Let's move on to another station. I was surprised to find out that even the Chinese Station was dominated by Wagyu dishes! And I was even more ecstatic to see this Wagyu Xiao Long Bao by non other than Dimsum Chef Andy Liew. He also made Wagyu Beef Ball Pao Bun. Amazing!

Peppered Wagyu Beef

By the Chinese Station, you can also grab some of these tasty Wagyu dishes such as the Peppered Wagyu Beef...

Stewed Wagyu Beef Brisket

And Stewed Wagyu Beef Brisket

Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek

Aside from the dishes in the different stations, HEAT's top chefs also plated for us different Wagyu dishes to enjoy. Like Executive Chef Tobias Unger’s super soft Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek, braised in red wine, glazed carrots, and confit shallots.

Stewed Wagyu Beef Brisket

There's also Executive Chinese Chef Tony Sum’s own version of Stewed Wagyu Beef Brisket with Radish dipped on homemade sauce.

Wagyu Beef Cheek Cannelloni

And of course, the Wagyu Beef Cheek Cannelloni by Executive Italian Chef Marco Ghezzi. A beautiful rolled pasta stuffed Wagyu beef and root vegetable.

Wagyu Beef Tacos

There's so much dishes that I feel bad that I didn't even get to try the Wagyu Beef Tacos :(

Steak shaped cake

They have practically incorporated Wagyu in almost all corners of HEAT. And just when I thought they couldn't possibly incorporate Wagyu on the Dessert Station, they surprise me yet again when they created a Red Velvet Cake disguised as a steak!

Steak shaped cake

At first I really thought it was one of those plastic food display thingy until we cut into it. Nicely done, HEAT!

Bull shaped crepe

And then there's also Wagyu crepe. A chocolate crepe shaped in a Bull's head. Of course!

I think you would agree with me now when I said that Mad for Wagyu is like Disneyland for Wagyu lovers! This is definitely something you must experience with family or friends like we did!:

Staying Up Late Sucks

Puyat ng puyat...

Tapos pag nag break out nanaman ang pimples, mag rereklamo.

This is me scolding myself at 1:13am as I type this quick post. Staying up late at night can be mentally exhausting because with the quiet setting (except for my husband's snore), all I seem to hear are my thoughts. Random thoughts about life. Like now, I'm again focusing on the fact that (and I've never really said this out loud before) that I don't know what I really want to do with in life.

When I was working, all I wanted to do was quit and stay at home and take care of the household and of course our daughter Rain. I'm living that dream now. And it's been great! But now that Rain started school, and that its been a bit easier to take care of her (because she already knows how not to bump her head accidentally or to only put food in her mouth), I'm starting to miss that feeling of sitting at my own office desk, and quite frankly I really also miss having a monthly salary. I want to have something I can call mine, and something I enjoy doing. I envy my husband sometimes because no matter how crazy his deadlines can be with his web series and the food blog, he seems to be fine with it because that's what he loves to do.

I took up Mass Communications in college because I've always enjoyed doing projects that involved videos. Back in high school, my cousins and I would shoot mini TV shows at home, like a low budget cooking show with a really crappy  dish, (and a kalamansi as garnish), or an overly dramatic telenovela with a pointless plot with a Spanish title just because Spanish telenovelas were a hit back then.  (disclaimer, we're not that crappy. We just really wanted it to be sarcastic and funny) Then I would add OBBs the hard way by using a PowerPoint, and shooting the computer monitor as I play the PowerPoint presentation with my video camera, while playing a dramatic music in the background. (talk about manual!) I have to find that tape again!

But anyway, after I graduated and experienced X number of years working in either production or events, I realized it was not for me. I got burnt out quickly what with all the overnight work and the fact that there are no room for mistakes because the show/event is live, until I got to the point that all I wanted an easy 9-5pm job instead.

Fast forward to today. My point is that life doesn't always turn out the way you planned it. And that the grass will always greener on the other side of the fence until I find something that I really enjoy doing. I mean I love being a hands-on mom, really. It's the hardest but most fulfilling job in the world. And I will keep doing it. But let's face it, Rain's not going to be a kid forever. And pretty soon I will need to search for work. When that time comes, what will I be doing? It has to be a job that I will enjoy doing regardless of how challenging it can become.

I've been trying to figure out what it could be. Until now, I have no answer.

1:41 AM. Damn you insomnia for making me overthink! And for making me crave for food that's not accessible to me right now. Where the hell is Mr. Sandman? My mind is exhausted. So much for my "quick post".

Staying up late sucks.
