I've never really been an all-meat person. During a meal, I need to have my carbs with my meat. But it's a whole different ball when we're talking about steak. Melt-in-your-mouth juicy and savory steak with delicious sidings of steamed vegetables or mashed potatoes. A really good steak is not to be overpowered with rice. It should shine on its own! Writing this is making my mouth water! Wolfgang's Steakhouse is named after the famous Wolfgang Zwiener. A well-trusted head waiter of Peter Luger turned restaurant owner. It's a nice story, actually. Wolfgang, a waiter for 40 years who was about to retire, got the surprise of his life when his boss Peter Luger and his son planned to make Wolfgang the owner of their new restaurant which they named Wolfgang's Steakhouse, putting all of his acquired skills to better use!
Wolfgang's Steakhouse serves outstanding USDA Prime New York sirloin, its signature Porterhouse steak, some excellent fillet mignon and ribeye! What makes their steaks special is that all steaks undergo a 28-day dry-aging process in their own dry-aging room. See for yourself!
The Signature Porterhouse for Two (P 5,408 per 1kg) is truly a sight to behold. Especially when you see it brought out of the kitchen and it's sizzling in a puddle of butter. Man oh man!!!
USDA Prime Rib is also jaw-dropping! This huge prime rib is cooked to perfection! Have it medium rare or medium well. Totally up to you! It's still going to be awesome! The photo above is the medium rare.
You can also order these amazing sidings to go with your scrumptious steaks. Now, I know I previously said that I prefer eating steak with only a siding of vegetables or a bit of mashed potatoes. But it would be a huge mistake not to try Wolfgang's Steak Rice! (P268). Rice cooked and the steak's delicious fat and oil, with bits of steak too! It's a steak fried rice! (My word, my stomach is grumbling!)
Other sidings include Steak Fries, Cottage Fries, German Potatoes, Onion Rings, Sauteed Mushrooms, Jumbo Baked Potato, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Onions and Green Peas.
And then for dessert, a platter of Chocolate Mouse, Key Lime Pie, and "Junior's" Cheesecake. Perfect for sharing!
