It was a normal weekday afternoon. The weather was nice and cool and so I decided to take Rain out for a walk to get some fresh air. It was just me and Rain. Walking while holding hands. It was a nice day, it was a peaceful walk. Then it happened...Our 1+ year old twin neighbors passed by with their yayas pushing them in these Mickey Mouse tricycles with push handles.
Upon seeing the twins, Rain got all excited! You can see the spark in her eyes. She was in love. Not with the twins, but with the Mickey bike!

Twin 1: Uh.... what's she doing with my bike? |
She immediately ran up to them to play with the Mickey squeaky toy installed on the bike's handle bar, frightening the twins hehehe. Apparently the twins are shy around girl babies.

Twin 2: Take whatever you want, just please don't hurt me! |
After a while I took Rain away from the twins so they could continue their stroll.
Of course she started crying. A crying that I have never heard before. (See video). She kept saying "car! car!" (referring to the bikes). It's like she lost something she dearly loved. So I had Rain's ladybug car brought out so she would also have something to ride.
By this time, the twins were already down the road and because Rain wanted so much to go see the nice bikes again, she tried catching up to them while pushing her lady bug car with her feet as fast as she can. But the lady bug car can only do so much. And the rough pavement wasn't helping either. My heart broke while watching her cry while trying to catch up to them :-(
So before things got ugly, I picked her up and told her we're going inside. But she wouldn't have it. That's when she started crying (See video). She kept calling out "Mickey! Mickey!" I have never seen her cry like that. Like she was really really emotionally hurt. Like a loved one was leaving her for good. I took a video of her because I wanted to show Richie when he got home.
Me: Hun, I want to buy Rain a bike with a push handle
Richie: Why? But she already has that motorized car from her bito and bita. Let's not spend too much. She has too many toys already.
Me: (Told him the story)
Richie: (still sounding hesitant) Let's talk about it nalang when I get home.
By the sound of his voice I could tell that he was going to talk me out of it. So anyway after a few hours, he comes home. Then I showed him the video. After literally 3 seconds of watching Rain's cry, he goes....
"Sige hun, bilan mo na bukas." (Okay hun, buy her one tomorrow.).
Tiklop si daddy! I found it funny hehehe.
So the following day I head to the mall to look for a nice push bike for her. And guess what I saw? The exact same Mickey bike!
So after buying, I picked up Richie from work and then we surprised her! See what she does with her new bike in the video :')
Ever since that day, Rain and her bike has been inseparable...

And finally....
She is now able to join the twins every afternoon for a ride without harassing them hahaha!
This is the story why I we think this bike is one of the best purchases we made. The smile on her face every time she gets on her bike is priceless!
